[$] looming

another labrat commission result from Finalcord's session!! i ended up studying shines on this one a lot and enjoying the process. i realized i don't think enough about shadows, too, and i lose fine details while working with highlights -- cos i fixate on them and get excited because they're pretty. ;_; EDUCATIONAL. i also learned i regularly fail to keep characters with a consistent amount of fingers. aaAAAA. ART is LEARNING and my brain HURTS constantly and i LOVE IT

(seriously since this i have been realizing i give characters different digit counts on the same image. like. damn? damn.)

Final [it/its; balloon sphynx beastie] peers down and to the left, smirking as it looms over the composition. its big palms and claws hang out of the background and into a transparent foreground, giving it the impression that it is too big for its setting. behind it is a large sky full of big but simple clouds. Final is very shiny with very loose transparency implied in places -- but, mostly, is shiny.
