but i hadn't posted this piece yet and that was killing me -- i've decided to smush Sonic into Aurelius and just be cozy with him as the default avatar for 'RL' as a unit. (i made a ref sheet. no you can't see it. yes it's because it isn't done. i will tell you the belly-scar is from the first fanfic series i ever wrote 20+ years ago tho.)maybe it's temporary but considering how this feels i don't think so. anyway -- im very specific abt my incarnation of Sonic! he's large, doughy and typically sleeping or refusing to do something he should be doing. he's faster on all fours than on two legs and is probably a quarter if not an eighth of the canon Sonic's speed. (not like he moves much, but, yknow)
i painted this up while a spring storm was rolling in; i listen to a weather radio to relax (when it isn't blaring warnings) and the scene in Kiki's Delivery Service (where she does almost exactly this) is always a live wire in my mind.
i can't remember which brushes i used for this -- but it was ~90% Krita by volume and 10% CSP cleanup. the main file is the default coloration and the secondary is a gradient i thought did a good job at conveying a party cloudy evening.
