DESCRIPTION

Hey friends and fans! Kairomaru is bringing you another chapter of The Logia Brothers! The Tower of Law has been breached and it turned into a free-for-all right off the bat! Damage to the tower itself is already rapidly accumulating, everyone is moving after their chosen targets or enemies, Spandam is running for his life, and Lucci has already been put through two walls. It’s safe to say that Enies Lobby has COMPLETELY lost control of the situation. Luffy and the Straw Hats have already taken back Robin and Franky, so all the CP9 can really do is try to take down the pirates…or at least buy time until the Buster Call arrives.

Chapter 74 – Straw Hats vs CP9: Part 1

Within the Tower of Law, loud crashes could be heard from multiple places as the fighting within the tower grew fiercer between the Straw Hats and the CP9.

Kaku was blurring through one corridor with Soru, outpacing Zoro who was chasing right after him. He stopped in front of a pair of wooden doors that he hadn’t seen in years, before earlier today when he’d returned to Enies Lobby, and quickly dashed inside his room.

Zoro skidded to a stop a moment later in front of the two doors and let out a grunt. Not even bothering to try the handles on the doors, two brief flashes of Sandai Kitetsu and Yubashiri had the wooden doors falling inward in pieces. “Are you done running away?” Zoro asked as he stepped into the room, his eyes locked onto Kaku.

“You’ve had your swords drawn since the beginning.” Kaku said as he revealed two simple shirasaya swords, the plain wooden scabbards and hilts making the weapons look a bit like bokken to the untrained eye. “I figured that it was only right that I do the same.”

“I drew them for a reason.” Zoro said without explanation, though it was obvious given that the CP9 had kidnapped Robin, one of his nakama. “This one…” He slightly raised Sandai Kitetsu. “…is calling for your blood.”

The fact that Zoro cold practically hear the cursed sword’s intent—almost like a person muttering under their breath—through his Observation, was why he could make such a statement so seriously.

Kaku shifted into a defensive stance as he locked eyes with Zoro. “I never imagined that you pirates would make it this far. You’re a frightening group…however, I’m the bets swordsman in CP9. Don’t take me lightly.”

“Nitōryū, huh?” Zoro eyed the two simple-looking shirasaya in Kaku’s hands.

In a strange move (from a swordsman’s perspective) Kaku swiftly placed the ends of the two shirasaya on the floor and used the swords to support his weight as both of his feet blurred upwards into nearly invisible kicks. Zoro moved Yubashiri and Sandai Kitetsu just as fast and with a sound similar to blades clashing, deflected the flying slashes that Kaku had sent his way. The slicing force continued and split a grandfather clock on one side of the broken doors, and a bookcase on the other side of the doors. The walls behind the two object were also cut through, making cracks spread across the bricks and masonry.

“Rankyaku.” Kaku said with a small smile as the sliced objects came crashing down to the floor behind Zoro. “Sorry, but…it’s four swords.”

“Fine by me.” Zoro narrowed his eyes, a fierce look similar to a deity of war on his face as he readied his three swords. “You’re whole body is a weapon, right?”

Kaku locked eyes with Zoro again and then blurred away, leaving the scabbards of his two swords hanging in the air from the speed he’d unsheathed his weapons and moved away. In the next instant, Zoro’s swords clashed against Kaku’s in rapid succession. Over a dozen exchanges of slashes happened in a flash of steel to the eyes of most before the two swordsmen knocked each other backwards. The short distance created was immediately utilized by both Zoro and Kaku to unleash true techniques.

“Nanajūni Pound Hō!” Zoro slashed with all three swords to unleash a cutting force with power equivalent to a massive cannon.

“Rankyaku: Hakurai!” Kaku kicked with both legs, unleashing a much more powerful air slash that slammed into Zoro’s attack with an airburst.

Clack

The two wooden scabbards that Kaku had left behind finally hit the floor. A testament to the sheer speed the two men were fighting at.

“Soru!” Kaku blurred through the dust cloud kicked up by the clashing techniques. He brought both of his swords in front of him, looking to use his high-speed to slice straight through Zoro.

Zoro saw the attack coming and stabbed Sandai Kitetsu into the floor. Kaku’s two swords slammed into the planted sword, unable to move it as Zoro held the handle like an immovable pillar. With a grunt, Kaku spun, completing multiple revolutions as he created distance across the floor. But Zoro was already right behind him, charging forward while swinging all three swords at Kaku. The CP9 agent bent backwards, his long square nose barely avoiding being cut by a centimeter, before he caught himself on his fists, not letting go of his swords, and pushed off the floor to make distance.

“Wahaha! This is fun!” Kaku declared as he aimed his swords at Zoro again.

“I don’t have time for fun.” Zoro said, Yubashiri pointed at Kaku.

Kaku leapt upwards, stabbing his two swords into the ceiling. “Then you have to beat me!” He unleashed a flurry of kicks towards Zoro. “Rankyaku: Ran!” A barrage of cutting blades, all shorter and with less overall power behind them than a normal Rankyaku, rained down on Zoro.

Zoro focused, honing his Observation further as he moved Yubashiri and Sandai Kitetsu into the path of the incoming attacks. With the tip of Yubashiri, the first air blade was deflected off to the right. Sandai Kitetsu deflected the second to the left with just the tip of the blade. The flowing motions of the two swords and Zoro’s body were fluid and perfectly timed to, almost gently, deflect every single Rankyaku coming at him. The room all around Zoro was sliced over and over again, the floor crisscrossed with dozens of lines and every piece of furniture that had been in the room was now in pieces.

“Are you taking this fight seriously?” Zoro questioned Kaku after deflecting the entire barrage.

“I am, indeed! I’m very impressed!” Kaku said, standing atop a pile of rubble with both of his swords still in hand. “But if you’re in such a hurry…” Kaku’s body began to grow and morph. “…I’ll show you my new power.”

Zoro’s eyes widened as Kaku grew and grew, the man’s neck extended to absurd lengths, his body bulked up considerably as it stretched, his arms lengthened to match his growing legs, and his hands turned into hooves, forcing him to drop his swords.

Crack

The loud sound came from below as Kaku’s growing from put too much weight on the already damaged floor.

“You’re a giraffe?!” Zoro bellowed out, barely managing to keep Wado Ichimonji between his teeth.

The floor collapsed out from under both of them, sending them falling into the room below. Said room was massive and looked like a large garden one might see at a martial arts temple, complete with an artificial waterfall and stream, along with trees and an actual grass lawn for a floor.

“Whoa?! No!” Kaku cried out in surprise. “I was trying to use my man-beast form…but I turned into a full giraffe instead!” With a loud crash, the rubble slammed into the grass floor while Zoro and Kaku landed more nimbly…or as nimble as a giraffe could be, at any rate.

“Are all you CP9 guys Zoan Fruit users or something?” Zoro questioned as he looked up at Kaku. “This place must be like a zoo.”

Kaku glared down at Zoro from his much greater height as a giraffe. “My Devil Fruit is the Ushi Ushi no Mi – Model: Giraffe. But not everyone in CP9 has Devil Fruit powers.”

Zoro didn’t much care as he tied his bandana around his head securely and then picked up Yubashiri and Sandai Kitetsu again. “But why a giraffe?”

“What’s wrong with giraffes?! I happen to like this power!” Kaku snapped at Zoro.

“I told you, I don’t have time. If you like being a giraffe, good for you.” Zoro readied all three of his swords. “I’ll cut you down as you are.”

“You fool! Don’t underestimate the immense power of the giraffe!” Kaku bellowed out as his body began to shift again. “Transform! Man-beast form!” His giraffe body became more humanoid, but the long neck and lengthened snout remained the same, along with the giraffe ears and the short horn-like protrusions atop his head. The fur pattern on his body stayed as well and his legs and feet remained those of a giraffe while his hoofed hands gained finger-like dexterity. “Behold… I am reborn with unthinkable power!”

Zoro blinked at the form once before blurting out the first thought in his head. “Lame! Why’re you so square-shaped?!”

Indeed, Kaku’s torso, long neck, and even his snout were all blocky and squared.

Kaku’s eye twitched. “W-What did you just say…?” He ground his teeth in annoyance and frustration, already having had to deal with Jabra’s near constant mocking since he’d gotten this power. “Curse you!” Kaku dropped to the floor, catching himself on one hand and started spinning. The speed rapidly built up as the long neck and long legs of Kaku’s half-beast form, along with the huge increase in weight, added range and greater centrifugal force to his spin.

Zoro got a brief flash of what was about to happen through his Observation Haki: a huge slice…his body and swords cleanly split…the entire tower cut in two. “Shit!”

“Rankyaku: Amane Dachi!” Kaku roared out as a visible air blade, in a perfect ring, was launched outwards from his spinning form.

As the ring of cutting force expanded in the blink of an eye, Zoro reacted, pouring his Armament Haki into all three of his swords. “Santōryū: Hyakuhachi Pound Hō!” He unleashed the three air blades with as much force as he could muster, clashing with the expanding cutting ring of Kaku’s technique.

A strange sound, a mix of clashing blades and hissing air, was heard as the two attacks hit one another. Then there was silence for a long moment.

Shnnnfff

The sound of stone grinding against stone filled the air as the top of the Tower of Law slid slightly to one side. The sky becoming visible from within the large room thanks to the shifting of the tower.

“You deflected that?” Kaku was between impressed and surprised that Zoro had managed to stand against his new technique.

“If you think that was enough to defeat me…” Zoro exhaled strongly through his nose. “…then you’ve underestimated me.” He inhaled deeply and the air around him seemed to waver as he raised Yubashiri and Sandai Kitetsu.

Within Kaku’s mind, his new animal instincts suddenly flared up, fight or flight had been activated by primal instinct. ‘He’s dangerous! I have to kill him now!’ Following innate instinct and utilizing his own incredible proficiency with learning techniques, Kaku drew his long neck downwards and into his body. His arms and legs lengthened in response, stunning him for a second, but he shoved that aside and focused on what he wanted…needed…to do right now. “Bigan!” His neck extended in a blur, similar to his arm when he used the Shigan technique. Kaku’s large, square nose slammed into Zoro’s raised swords and sent the pirate skidding backwards, his boots tearing up the grass and dirt beneath his feet.

But then he stopped, and Kaku’s ‘nose gun’ couldn’t push him any further.

How can he be this strong?!’ Kaku questioned as he knew his attack could’ve easily pierced straight through solid stone.

Zoro flexed, his arms bulging, and forced Kaku backwards, staggering the giraffe man. The air wavered around him and his swords unnaturally, his Armament Haki filling the air as he poured everything he had into the next technique. “Kiki Kyūtōryū: Asura!” To Kaku’s eyes, Zoro developed two more heads and four more arms, increasing his swords from three to nine.

“A demon god?!” Kaku felt every hair on his body stand on end and he instinctively defended himself. “Tekkai!”

“Asura: Ichibugin!” Zoro bellowed powerfully while all nine of his swords vanished for a fraction of a second. In that fraction of a second, Kaku, a master of Rokushiki who was used to the immense speed of the mastered Soru technique, completely lost sight of Zoro. The swordsman stopped behind Kaku’s massive body, appearing to be in the same stance as he’d been in when beginning his technique. It was as if he’d not even taken a single step to cross the significant distance at all.

“GAH!!!” Kaku hacked out a mouthful of blood as nine lacerations opened up across his body in sprays of crimson, his Tekkai cut through as if it was little more than paper.

In his instinctive reaction to defend himself, he’d pulled his neck into his body, bulking it up into a nearly cube shape…but that had only made the slashes go from instantly fatal, to debilitating, as each of his limbs was cut once, and his torso had five deep lacerations across it.  The cube-shaped giraffe man’s body returned to its natural towering proportions as his consciousness began to fade and his body lost tension against his will. His eyes rolled back in his head as he began to shrink, his Devil Fruit transformation coming undone as he collapsed to the floor on his back.

“Hah…hah…” Zoro took deep, heavy breaths as shocks of pain lanced throughout his body. For all his focus and use of Armament Haki, blocking the transformed Kaku’s ‘nose gun’ attack had rattled his bones. Not to mention the toll it took to use his ultimate technique, something he’d only come up with while constantly sparring with Luffy during their voyage. “Everything I’ve learned on this journey, condensed into understanding, and applied through sheer focus and willpower…” He glanced over at Kaku, seeing the man’s bloody chest gently rising and falling with shallow breaths. “…and I still couldn’t cut him down in one swing.”

Taking off his bandana, he wiped the sweat from his face and then tied it back around his arm. Sheathing his swords, he tried to use his Observation to find the ‘voices’ of the others. Once he picked up on one…he started to follow it, only to stumble as the entire Tower of Law shook again and the top of the sliced building slid again, getting closer to toppling over entirely.

KRAKBOOM

“What the hell is Luffy doing up there?!” Zoro looked upwards, feeling Luffy’s intensely powerful ‘voice’ like a physical force.

-Luffy versus Lucci-

“Grrrnnn!!!” Lucci growled in pain as lightning coursed throughout his body again.

“Rah!” Luffy roared out as his fist slammed into Lucci’s hastily raised guard and launched the leopard man into the air like a rocket.

Lucci kicked off the air powerfully to alter his course. “Geppou!” He kicked the air again to change course before adding in the speed of Soru. “Soru!” He became nothing but a blur in the air as he combined the two techniques into one. “Kamisori!”

“Pigeon bastard!” Luffy appeared in front of Lucci in a spark of lightning. Not even the fastest speed of the CP9 agent could hope to outrun lightning itself. He swung a punch straight at Lucci’s face.

“Kami-e!” Lucci’s body flowed around the blow, almost looking like he suddenly had no bones, his body a sheet of paper in the wind. But that didn’t save him. “Guh!” Luffy’s foot slammed into his face, the unnatural flexibility of the defensive Rokushiki technique meant little to an Observation Haki user that could predict their opponent’s moves. Lucci ragdolled through the air and slammed back into the destroyed top of the Tower of Law.

A bolt of lightning followed after the CP9 agent striking what remained of the top of the tower. That bolt was Luffy, having dropped feet first straight onto Lucci while cloaked in lightning, and put the leopard man through two floors of the severed top of the tower. The tower slid a little more, the compromised structure nearing its limit faster and faster as the fighting continued.

Luffy grabbed Lucci by the throat, his electrified body constantly electroshocking the other man. “Hyah!” He bodily lifted Lucci’s half-beast form with the hand around the man’s neck and slammed him head first into the stone floor, shattering it into gravel. “Get up!” Luffy bellowed like thunder, kicking Lucci in the stomach and sending the Zoan Fruit user into the nearest wall, spiderweb cracks spreading across it.

“Tobu Shigan!” Lucci thrust his clawed finger forward, unleashing a flying version of the normal Shigan technique that made a spark appear on Luffy’s chest for a second before the ‘injury’ returned to normal. “Soru!” He vanished at his fastest speed, made possible by utilizing Life Return to streamline his half-beast form and focus on maximizing the speed and strength he got from his body.

He ran straight into Luffy’s fist.

“AUGH!!!” Lucci roared out in pain, his leopard nose gushing blood from the punch. His voice was cut off as Luffy’s hand palmed his face with a nearly crushing grip, and then the back of his head met the brick wall with enough force to break the masonry and half-bury Lucci’s head.

“Rah!” Luffy yelled as he took off running, dragging Lucci’s head through the brick wall the entire way before they reached the corner and Luffy used Lucci’s body as a battering ram to knock a hole through the next wall. “Raiken!” Luffy’s thunderous bellow was followed by his entire right arm turning into a storm of lightning as he punched forward.  Lucci was engulfed in a fraction of a fraction of a second by the beam of lightning, the entire side of the severed top of the tower exploding outwards and vanishing.

Lucci managed to stay conscious through sheer will and a bit of luck as he fell through the air; his body was bloody, bruised, covered in electrical burns, and twitching from his overloaded nerves. “Geppou!” He managed to force his legs to work and kicked the air, slowing his fall significantly. Another kick and he’d stopped falling entirely, now hopping on the air as he tried to get the rest of his body back under control. “Logia…powers…” He breathed out heavily, pain lancing throughout his body. “I need Seastone.” Lucci knew he could get some Seastone shackles from within the Tower of Law.

Bzzzt

The electrical discharge behind him made Lucci’s eyes widen even as he turned as fast as he could to look.

“Go back!” Luffy ordered as his kick slammed into Lucci’s side, nearly folding the man over his leg sideways, and launched him straight back into the massive hole that now existed in the Tower of Law’s severed top portion. He vanished in a spark and reappeared a second later on the same half destroyed floor as Lucci.

“Hah…hah…” Lucci was gasping for air, the wind having been knocked from his lungs by Luffy’s kick. “Straw…hat…” He glared at Luffy, baring his fangs at the pirate. “Soru!” His feet shattered the ground as he kicked off of it as powerfully as he could, closing the distance between him and Luffy instantly.

Luffy effortlessly weaved around the attack, claws missing his throat by millimeters, and placed his palm against Lucci’s chest. “200,000,000 Volts…” He intoned as his hand turned into crackling blue-white lightning. Lucci’s entire body glowed as the massive amount of lighting poured into him, to the point that his eyes and mouth appeared to glow while the rest of his body was merely a black silhouette within the bright flash of lightning.

Lucci’s entire perception was nothing but pain. But even that was fading as his nerves overloaded to the point of burning out entirely from the electricity cooking him from the inside out. Crackles of electricity arced off his body as his vision went dark, not from a loss of consciousness, but from the destruction of his optic nerves. He hit his knees in front of Luffy, even if he couldn’t feel it anymore, and smoke rose from his badly burned body.

“You’ll never threaten Robin or any of my nakama again.” Luffy said, not even sure if Lucci could hear him, and also not caring. He cocked back his fist and his entire arm turned black from his Armament Haki reinforcing his body. “YAH!!!” He punched Lucci as hard as he could, felt bones give way like spun sugar under his fist as they shattered and both muscles and organs were crushed beneath the force, and then Lucci was blasted away in a blur streaking over the island like a macabre shooting star.

-Enies Lobby Harbor-

The harbor of Enies Lobby was mostly used by the ships ferrying prisoners to Impel Down, and occasionally to move personnel from Marineford to Enies Lobby. But today, it was being swarmed by thousands of Marines, Cipher Pol agents, and island staff as they tried to escape the incoming Buster Call. Normally, hundreds of them would’ve rushed straight for the Sea Train to escape quickly, but the Giant gate guards, Oimo and Kashii, had rebelled and even thrown large chunks of buildings at anyone that approached the Main Island Gate.

“Calm down!” One of the Marines tried to yell over the cacophony that the large number of panicked people were making. “There’s enough space on the ships for everyone!” While that was technically true, it would only be so if they loaded each and every ship to the absolute limit with people.

Already supplies and other things deemed ‘unnecessary’ at the moment were being tossed off the ships to make space and reduce weight so that more people could get aboard. Boxes of chains and shackles, cannonballs, even a few of the cannons themselves if they could be detached and tossed overboard quickly; all of it was removed as more and more people piled onto each ship.

BAM

“KYAAA!!!” Several women, cafeteria workers on the island that served meals to the various Marines and Cipher Pol agents, screamed as something crashed into a pile of crates and barrels near the harbor.

“Watch out!”

“Protect the civilians!”

Over two dozen Marines rushed forward with rifles, followed by another dozen Cipher Pol agents, each wielding their weapon of choice. All of them expected that the invading enemies had come to attack them before they could escape.

None of them expected what they actually saw.

“Is… Is that R-Rob Lucci…?” One of the Cipher Pol agents stuttered out.

One of the Marines slowly approached the badly burned and broken body. He wrinkled his nose at the smell of burnt flesh once he was close, but extended his leg to lightly nudge the body with the toe of his boot. “H-He’s…dead.”

“That’s impossible!” One of the Cipher Pol agents exclaimed in disbelief.

“Rob Lucci is the strongest member of CP9…ever!” A different agent said, panic seeping into his voice.

Another Marine got close to the corpse and knelt down to check for a pulse. “Who could do this to THE Rob Lucci?” He questioned himself under his breath. After a long moment of not feeling a pulse or seeing any sign of respiration, the Marine turned to the group of Cipher Pol agents and his fellow sailors, only to grimly shake his head once with his eyes closed.

Rob Lucci, the strongest agent in the history of Cipher Pol 9, was dead.

The Marines formed a tighter perimeter, still not sure of who or what had thrown Lucci’s body this way, while the Cipher Pol agents wrapped the corpse in a spare tarp and carried it on board one of the ships. Reports would have to be made and the death of such a powerful Cipher Pol agent would cause a huge stir up the chain of command. But, for now, everyone was focused on getting the hell off Enies Lobby BEFORE the Buster Call arrived.

-Tower of Law ~ Third Floor-

Kalifa was not having nearly as easy a time as she thought she’d have. “Hmph!” She huffed as she dodged another kick from Mikita, knowing the other woman’s power, getting hit by any of her attacks could be fatal. She lashed out with her own kick, but Mikita dodged it, skipping back to make some distance.

“Thunder Ball!” Nami swung her Climatact around and a crackling ball of electricity flew straight at Kalifa.

“Kami-e.” Kalifa nearly flowed around the attack, staying just far enough away to not get shocked by the electricity. “Soru!” She blurred away and reappeared behind Nami with her arm cocked back. “Shigan!”

Nami fluidly turned, the deadly jab passing through empty air, and lashed out with her Climatact again. “Eisen Whip!” The iron cloud spewed forth in a long string, but Kalifa dodged again with another Kami-e.

I need to avoid that.’ Kalifa thought to herself as she saw the strange cloud slice through the nearby wall. “Kami-e.” She flowed around Mikita’s punch and then kicked upwards, her leg merely a blur. “Rankyaku!” The air blade was nimbly avoided as Mikita had predicted its path with her Observation Haki. “I guess I’ll have to use my new power.” White, foamy bubbles began to pour off Kalifa’s arms and hands as she swept them forward.

“A Devil Fruit!” Mikita leapt backwards to avoid the wave of bubbles, not sure of what they’d do.

“What kind though?” Nami questioned as she swiped her Climatact at the incoming wave, releasing a strong breeze that pushed the foam backwards.

Kalifa smirked at the other two women. “Is figuring that out half the fun when fighting a Devil Fruit user?” She glanced at Mikita. “I already know what your power is…now you have to figure out mine!” She gathered a large amount of the bubbly foam together and threw it at Nami and Mikita. Even as the pirates dodged, the floor was still covered in the slippery bubbles.

“Ball Clouds!” Nami spun her Climatact and dozens of the large spherical clouds filled the corridor, making it hard for Kalifa to move. “Heat Ball! Cool Ball!” She loosened both ends of her staff and rotated the middle, causing the ends to swing in circles and unleash red and blue orbs of air towards the Ball Clouds.

“These’re clouds?” Kalifa poked one of the Ball Clouds curiously, only for her finger to sink into the mass as it started to lose its cohesion. “They don’t do much.” She said as she turned to face Mikita and Nami again, only to blink as the Ball Clouds practically sucked up the hot and cold air Nami was throwing at them, becoming larger and darker as they accumulated water and clashing temperatures.

“Thunderbolt Tempo!” Nami launched another Thunder Ball into the black Ball Clouds.

KRAKBOOM

All of the dark Ball Clouds lit up with a bright flash of yellow electricity and a crash of thunder as the micro storm in the corridor discharged its built up energy.

Mikita grinned at the power that Nami had unleashed. “Damn, girl… Remind me not to get on your bad side.” She said playfully, giving Nami a wink.

“That’s what she gets for being overconfident.” Nami grinned, only for both of them to blink in confusion as what appeared to be a large bar of soap now stood in the blackened corridor. “What the hell is that?”

The bar of soap turned into bubbles and foam as it fell away, revealing Kalifa perfectly unharmed.

“What a surprise. Imagine, lightning striking indoors.” Kalifa said with a little smirk.

“Was that soap?” Mikita questioned the other blonde woman.

Kalifa’s smirk didn’t change. “Unless you figure that out…you won’t be able to win this fight.”

Nami narrowed her eyes as she put what they’d seen of Kalifa’s Devil Fruit together and came to a hypothesis. “It turned into bubbles and disappeared…like a bar of soap melting away. I’d guess you’re a soap woman that ate the Awa Awa no Mi.”

“B-But…even if you know what my power is…” Kalifa looked shocked and had raised her arms in an almost embarrassed defensive stance. “…that doesn’t mean you have a chance! Impudent girl!”

“You’re a bit of a ditz, aren’t you?” Mikita deadpanned at Kalifa.

Nami looked at Kalifa flatly. “With how you reacted…I almost feel bad for being right.”

Kalifa regained her composure a second later, smiling confidently once more. “In any case, your right. It’s all about hygienics…” Bubbles poured forth from her hands and arms as she trailed them over her curvy body. “I ate the Awa Awa no Mi. I’m a soap human who can create bubbles from anywhere on my body!”

“Damn, she’s sexy…” Mikita and Nami said at the same time. They looked at each other and then shook their heads once to refocus on the fight.

“Is that Fruit any good for fighting? It doesn’t look too strong!” Nami said as she readied her Climatact again.

Kalifa merely grinned at her opponents. “You don’t understand. I can control ALL of the bubbles produced by my body.” She waved her right arm and all of the bubbles scattered across the floor rushed towards Kalifa. “Bubble Master!”

Mikita dodged some of the bubbles that nearly touched her as they flew through the air. “Even the ones on the ground?!”

The bubble and foam gathered around Kalifa and made a thick cloud that covered her and trailed behind her. She stuck her arms out of the bubble and curled them slightly, her face visible in the center of the bubbles. “Soap Sheep!”

“Are you just stupid?” Nami demanded with an annoyed look on her face.

“Appearances can be deceiving.” Kalifa said as she threw her arms forward and the bubbles of her Sheep Cloud were launched at Mikita and Nami. “Sheep Cloud Relaxing Bubbles!”

Nami and Mikita focused on their Observation Haki and began to deftly move around the clouds of foam. The only problem, however, was that they were being forced backwards as more and more of the bubbles covered the floor.

“Soru!” Kalifa blurred and reappeared between Nami and Mikita. “Soon, you will learn the terror of my power.” She Launched a kick at Mikita and, in a show of flexibility, jabbed her finger towards Nami. “Rankyaku! Shigan!”

“Damn it!” Mikita pivoted to doge the air blade, only to backstep as another cloud of bubbles nearly engulfed her

Nami skipped back while twirling her Climatact around, unleashing more Cool Balls and Heat Balls, making a breeze form from the clashing temperatures in the confined space of the corridor. The foam bubbles were blown off course while Nami enacted a plan of her own.

Kalifa appeared in a blur right in Mikita’s guard. “Shigan!” She stabbed her finger forward, but Mikita parried it with a block, knocking her arm aside. “Got you!” Soap foam nearly exploded from Kalifa’s arm and covered Mikita.

“You bitch!” Mikita cursed before her whole body went wobbly and she staggered back, falling on her butt. “What the hell did you do to me?!”

“The bubbles from my body can loosen and wipe away anything. Dirt, of course…but also strength…and other things.” Kalifa smirked down at Mikita.

“Thunder Ball!” Nami attacked Kalifa from behind to protect Mikita, but the CP9 agent vanished with Soru to dodge. “Mikita!” She was at her lover’s side immediately. “What’s wrong?”

Mikita grimaced. “I don’t know… It’s like I lost all my strength as soon as her bubbles hit me.”

Kalifa blurred into existence behind Nami. “You’re wide open! Shigan!” She stabbed forward, but Nami wavered away…just like a mirage. “What?!”

Nami waved at Kalifa from a few meters away. “You like it? It’s Mirage Tempo!”

“Impossible! You can’t make a mirage like that!” Kalifa knew that mirages were natural phenomena that occurred in the desert and only tricked the eye at a distance. “Rankyaku!” She kicked at Nami and the air blade passed right through the other woman, scattering another mirage.

“In this corridor, enclosed and filled with light, and clashing cool and hot air, it’s only natural that mirages could form.” Nami said with a grin on her face as multiple wavy versions of her appeared around the length of the corridor they were fighting in. “Mirage Tempo: Fata Morgana!”

Kalifa grimaced slightly at the trick. “You think I can’t find you?! Soru!” She blurred along the corridor. “Shigan! Rankyaku!” She struck mirage after mirage, looking for the real Nami.

“Ball Cloud!” Nami fired off another of the spherical clouds at Kalifa, but the agent dodged it easily.

“There you are!” Kalifa charged straight at Nami for the kill. “Huh?!” Only to suddenly stop in midair, her body bound by something unseen. “Wh-What is this?!” She felt like strings were wrapped around her tightly, binding her body in this awkward position.

Nami was the one grinning now. “String Cloud. So thin that their incredibly hard to see, but strong enough…with another numbers…to tie down just about anyone. All your running around just tangled you up in them nice and tight.”

Kalifa struggled, putting her considerable strength to work. “Geppou!” She kicked off the air with her one free foot, but that only made her bounce back and forth as the majority of the String Clouds held.

KRAKBOOM

The Tower of Law shook powerfully as the thunderclap rumbled throughout the damaged building. Dust and debris fell from the ceiling of the corridor as the shaking slowly subsided.

“Wh-What was that?” Kalifa looked up at the ceiling in confusion.

“That would be our Captain beating the hell out of your top hat wearing buddy.” Mikita said from the floor, even as she tried to use the wall to help her stand up.

Nami smiled as she aimed the Climatact at the bound Kalifa. “Luffy’s rather protective of his nakama. Especially us, his lovers.” Electricity sparked on the end of the staff. “Thunder Lance Tempo!” She saw the black Ball Cloud a bit further down the corridor, Kalifa dodging it had been part of the plan, allowing the cloud to soak up plenty of moisture along with the cool and hot air as it traveled along the corridor. The cloud crackled and a bolt of lightning shot down the corridor, through Kalifa, and touched the end of Nami’s Climatact to completed the circuit.

GYAAAAHHH!!!” Kalifa screamed out as she was nearly fried by the bolt passing through her body. She collapsed to the floor, completely knocked out, the heat of the lightning having evaporated the thin String Clouds.

Nami was at Mikita’s side quickly. “Are you alright?”

“Yeah, I’m starting to get my strength back.” Mikita said as she took Nami’s hand and got back to her feet. “The effect goes away once the bubbles do.”

“Really?” Nami noticed that a lot of the bubbles that Mikita had been covered in had popped already. “I can wash you off with a little Rain Tempo.”

Mikita gave Nami a playful grin. “Any excuse to get me all wet, huh?”

“Oh my, am I interrupting something?” Robin asked from near the end of the corridor with a small giggle, Luffy’s straw hat on her head.

“ROBIN!!!” Nami and Mikita beamed at seeing her and moved swiftly to wrap her in a double hug, Mikita seemingly having forgotten about her reduced strength from the lingering bubbles.

Robin enjoyed the warm hugs for a moment before recalling what was heading toward Enies Lobby at this very moment. “I’m happy to see you both too. However, could you remove these?” She turned slightly to show Nami the shackles binding her hands behind her back.

Nami nodded and swiftly pulled out a small lock picking set from within a hidden pocket of her outfit. “I’ll get them off of you in just a second.” She kneeled down and examined the lock for a moment, determining what type of mechanism it was, before gently slipping two of her tools into the lock and beginning to make tiny movements with them to work her way through the various pins in the small tumbler.

“Did one of them hit you?” Mikita asked, noticing the small bruise on Robin’s face, even if it was starting to fade. Her tone was soft and comforting, but Robin could hear the underlying anger in her lover’s voice.

“Spandam did.” Robin said with a cold look. “I’d like to pay him back before he can scurry away like a rat.”

Nami smirked as she stood up with the Seastone shackles in her hand. “Well, now you can!” She tossed the shackles on top of Kalifa’s unconscious body, letting the new Devil Fruit user deal with the weakening effect now. “Let’s go hunt down the masked bastard.”

“Thank you, Nami.” Robin leaned in and kissed the navigator for a moment. “I believe I know where he’ll be headed.”

“What am I, chopped liver?” Mikita asked with a playful pout.

Robin couldn’t help but smile and lean into Mikita’s lips. The two kept the kiss gentle and light, knowing now wasn’t the time to indulge. “We need to deal with Spandam and then get off this island before the Buster Call arrives.” The dark look in Robin’s eyes as the trauma from her childhood briefly resurfaced made both Nami and Mikita take one of Robin’s hands into theirs.

“Buster Call or not, Luffy won’t lose to any number of ships.” Namie assured Robin with a warm smile.

Mikita agreed with a little nod. “He’ll crush the Buster Call, this island, and anything else to keep you safe, Robin.”

“I know…” Robin said softly, the old terror being pushed back by the love and support she was given. The fact that Robin knew Luffy had already successfully broken through a Marine blockade back in Alabasta gave her more hope that even the Buster Call that had wiped out her homeland twenty years ago, would be sunk for daring to aim itself at her or any of Luffy’s nakama.

The three women took off, expanding their Observation as much as possible to try and find the weak ‘voice’ of Spandam within the Tower of Law before the bastard could get away. He had MUCH to pay for, and Robin was going to get her pound of flesh from the little mongrel of a man.

The Straw Hats are tearing through the CP9 one after another!

Kaku got taken down way faster this time around without all the shenanigans that he and Usopp went through in Canon. When Zoro says he doesn’t have time to waste with you, he’s going to cut you down quickly!

Unfortunately, his ‘ultimate technique’ still requires a TON of focus and Armament Haki to pull off…especially to cut through a master of Tekkai. But we all know that’ll just encourage Zoro to train even harder!

Lucci realized too late that he’d gone WAY too far down the ‘Find Out’ portion of the FAFO Scale! Luffy isn’t merciful to ANY that would threaten his nakama! World Government? Buster Call? Bring it the fuck on! Luffy will show them all why the Goro Goro no Mi is considered to be one of the Devil Fruits that’s nearly invincible!

Nami and Mikita deal with Kalifa and her Awa Awa no Mi powers. Unfortunately, for both her and Kaku, they didn’t have ANY real time to learn how to utilize their new powers in this story! While she managed to take Mikita out of the fight, that just made Nami fight smarter AND harder to take her out! You don’t touch Nami’s lovers!

Now Robin, Mikita, and Nami are going to hunt Spandam down! The little bastard has A LOT to answer for!

There’s still Fukuro and Kumadori to defeat from the CP9. But with Vivi, Chopper, Usopp, and Franky facing them, surely nothing bad could happen, right?

Keep reading to find out!
