Hello Patrons! There is a lot to update everyone on what's happening on my Patreon, and I finally have time to let you all know the plan.
Tropical Storm Dax
Tropical Storm: Dax Episode 01: Is That a Snake in Your Pants... is still in progress. I originally had planned for all the animation to be done by the end of May. But this is certainly not the case... While some of the animation tasks are certainly easier to work on, the sheer amount of footage means that it is taking longer for me to get through the work. While I could aim to get all of the animation done by end of June, there is still sound and music to be added, and with an episode nearing past 15 minutes in length, the production time really adds up.
So the plan now is to delegate the work more efficiently and try to hire more help for Episode 01, and continue that for Episode 02 and beyond. While delegating had been a pain for me in Star Love Space Pirates, it is something I have taken lessons from and I feel like with Dax, I can nail it down more properly.
I am holding off on making more special previews for Episode 01, as I really don't want to spoil too much of the story. The release of Episode 01 is projected to be no later than August, but hoping to release in July if things go smoother than anticipated.
There is also a plan to outline a story involving the latest artwork with Ronan and Wools. The bible for the project is also going to be updated with synopses. I am also hoping to get around to an artwork featuring Sebas, based on a previous suggestion box.
I may also re-open a suggestion box for characters and have another update on where all the characters for Tropical Storm Dax stand, some may be put to the background while new ones step up. Diamond Hard Patrons can have another chance to suggest new characters soon!
New Animation Project: maruten069_takoyaki
The original plan was to start a new animation project between Tropical Storm Dax Episode 01 and 02. But as I do not wish to make any more special previews of Episode 01, and I am just itching to do more erotic animation (I also get the strong feeling all of you are itching for it as well), I have started production on the next animated project subtitled "takoyaki". The goals will be to have much of the keys done this month with inbetweens, as well as a special preview. This will happen alongside finishing Dax Episode 01. I am hoping to keep the production time to only two months.
Regarding animations and special previews
I would like to hold a poll later this month regarding special previews. They are a way to show content and progress when animation is still being completed. But I am wondering if there are some that would like to avoid spoilers. The thing is, these new animations take longer to complete due to story. I am also tired of churning out animation for the sake of having one each month. I'd like to do these animations more properly without rushing, so I can look back and be happy with what I create. I may ask if you are satisfied with special previews, or if you are satisfied with waiting longer for some projects like Dax.
My own life journey
Looking back at this last year and a half was quite a roller coaster for me. In March 2025, I took a short hiatus to relax after Star Love Space Pirates, and during my vacation in the Philippines, I got the inspiration for Tropical Storm Dax. But shortly after returning to work, and starting on Dax, I had a family situation that slowed down my production, and affected my artwork. Thank you all for your support and understanding. After my father passed away, I moved my belongings into storage and traveled to Mexico, Japan, and Philippines for about 7 months. My digital nomad experience was very inspiring, and I feel like my artwork has improved. I even have many more ideas beyond Dax that I have yet to draw. I also miraculously put my hours in to my work, while still enjoying life, something I had struggled with living in Vancouver. Today, I am back in Canada, and spending much more time with my mom for about three months. I will have to balance the time I put into my work and spending with family, but I don't foresee a drastic change in output. I am however really excited to complete Dax Episode 01 very soon, and to share more ideas that I came up with in the future!
Conclusion
Dax is growing in scope, and I am taking steps to make production more efficient. I am confident now, after hearing feedback from many of you, that the work and time put into it is worth it, and I ask that you continue to wish me luck. Do let me know your comments below, as it really helps me with addressing any concerns you have, or if you just feel like giving me a morale boost, that really helps too!
