Frontier+ Monster: Akura Jebia | Two Page Monster Hunt: Petals of Silk and Blood

Hello Everyone!

This month’s winner is akura jebia from Monster Hunter Frontier! This CR 16 monster is simliar to the akura vashimu which is one of the very first monsters I made for this set. One of the things I wanted to do was make sure that the CR was wide enough that we wouldn't see both vashimu and jebia at the same player level. The other reason for this CR range is that both vashimu and jebia are similar, but knowing how one works may be a detriment to fighting the other. The jebia's crystal can be attacked and destroyed, and ignoring or being ignorant of that fact could lead to some catastrophic consequences. There are other changes, but you might need to do a stare and compare to see what they are.

Back to the good ole CR 6-10 range monsters this month with the party heading to the verdant hills to take care of a lala barina that is causing a number of issues to the ecosystem and traceroutes. It is another new monster from wilds which I have personally enjoyed creating new hunts for. Its encounter difficulty is slightly on the easier side, so this could be a great hunt to introduce a new group to a monster hunter campaign or to run a one shot for.
