Frontier+ Monster: Duremudira | Two Page Monster Hunt: Blades of Frozen Wrath

Hello Everyone!

This month’s winner is duremudira from Monster Hunter Frontier! This CR 21 elder dragon that I felt like many expected to be a CR 30 end game boss and you are right from what I have read. The thing is, I didn't want to set this monster to CR 30 due to it having a variant (Arrogant Duremudira) we will be making in the future. A CR 21 is the same CR as my original Fatalis and makes a great CR for an end game in the low to mid teens (depending on if you use its mythic trait or not).

The statblock for the monster is fairly unique. it uses both a Risen style enrage state where you roll a d6 at the start of the turn to see if its actions and traits are dealing cold or poison damage (along with some other effects). It is also a Mythic monster, which it then uses both its normal and enrage state effects at the same time. Its loot table also has some unique effects that are worth checking out. Overall I am very happy with it, and I hope you all enjoy using it in your games.

Two Page Monster Hunt: Blades of Frozen Wrath

Starting the year out with a high level hunt is always nice to see, and a nice change of pace to our fairly constant lower level hunts. In this hunt the party is tasked with dealing with a Goss Harag that is causing a number of issues up in the Snowy Mountains. In it your players will have to deal with a few new challenges and two new shrine options, before evening reach the goss.
