Hey, everyone, I wanted to mention what's been happening so far this Year. Well, when it comes to Wrapturous Adventure, Tsinji has been sketching some prototype animations for the boss enemies in the game, which I plan to experiment with and test very soon, but before I begin that, I've been busy fixing up a bit of an element of Wrap that I should have done quite some time ago.
See, whenever Tsinji drew the animations in a software called Clip Studio Paint, he had them on a canvas of 2304x3948 with a lot of empty space. Now the problem with that is I require the artwork to be at 512x1024, and the needed to be in the right location in the frame. My solution to this problem was simple: take what he sent and put it through Affinity Photo (Photoshop Alternative), scale the image, and fit it into the frame. I needed to do this to every single frame of animation and had to properly label them as well.
There was an unnecessary additional work, and compressing the images could have affected the visual quality. So to fix this issue and also to save Tsinji some time, I ended up buying Clip Studio Paint, and Tsinji sent me his original art files of the animations. I then went through the process of updating them with the correct canvas size and properly centering the characters in frame. I send them back to him, and now, when he updates an animation or makes a new one, there are no additional steps I need to do to implement them in the game.
Anyway, I mostly updated all the animation sprites for the game and also organized the folders they are stored in, so I’ll be getting to work on testing out the bosses for the game. There might be a few tweaks I might like to do to Wrapturous Adventure before I get to working on the bosses, but it shouldn’t take too long.
