Hello lovely Patreon people!
I just wanted to give you an update on the Patreon and get to say thank you of course for all of your support. When I say that we couldn’t continue to make Chaotic Neutral content without you, I seriously mean it. This channel, like many in the current YouTube landscape that don’t have Patreons, would simply have shuttered were it not for your support. Instead we’ve had a year and a half of glorious exclusive Cthulhu campaigns plus pre and post-game chats where we talk about buses, alongside all the public YouTube videos. We’ve even funnelled the Patreon money back into the channel with bonus episodes like Mothership and Alien, and we’re about to add even more public episode and mini-campaign combos starting this month with Vaesen, with Tom B returning to the table as a player.
In order to do that, account for rising costs like studio overheads, and to make sure we’re paying our cast a fair rate in the current economic landscape - we are going to be increasing our Patreon price by just 50 cents. So the $6.50 tier will go to $7, but on that you’ll get a monthly Cthulhu episode plus brand new one-shots when we do them, starting with Vaesen this month, as well as pre and post game chats. The $2 support tier is not affected and will remain as it is. For existing Patreons the price change won't come into effect for 30 days.
As I said this increase will help with rising costs and making sure our cast are fairly compensated for their bloody excellent work on screen and whatever Molly-Rose was doing in Grimblethorpe Dale, I’m joking of course because she was brilliant. The increase should also help to cover for falling YouTube ad revenue which has been steadily declining for years now, and to give you a peak behind the curtain, with YouTube’s current deal even our best performing videos don’t make enough from YouTube alone to even pay the cast members at the table. That is how important Patreon is to us, and why when I say we couldn’t do it without you I absolutely mean it. I appreciate that price increases are never fun, so we are genuinely eternally grateful for your ongoing support, and I can guarantee you that we are going to do everything we can to make it worth your while.
