April Update

Hey there! It's been a while. Sorry for taking so long to post anything. I ended up with more going on IRL than expected, and then when I finally tried to get back into SFM I just wasn't feeling it. 

I decided to start learning Blender instead, and here are some early results. These are just practice scenes, so ignore the flaws and how unfinished they are. I've only just got a handle on the basics of the program, but I at least wanted to show you something with this update.

A few notes about the scenes:

• The Aerith scene was just a basic character and lighting test that I did early on. Her model seemed quite complex so I haven't tried anything more with her... yet.
  
• The Ellie and Scarlet scenes are meant to be POV, but those angles are unfinished so I chose to show a side view for now.
  
• I remade the scene from one of my old Countess animations to compare the process of making something similar in Blender. I'll probably do some remakes of other scenes as well, since it's helpful for learning.
  
• I don't know if any of these will end up as completed works, since they've just been for practice. I'll want to do similar things with these characters (except maybe Countess, her model has a few issues), but I might end up starting the projects over from scratch, or at least altering them a lot, once I know what I'm doing more.

If anyone has any opinions on SFM vs Blender, I'd be interested to hear them. I'm still trying to decide whether I'll completely abandon SFM or not. It has certain advantages, but it's severely limited in many ways. Trying out Blender has been way more interesting to me lately, so I'll continue in that direction for now.

I'll try to update you all a bit more often with my progress, but whenever I go silent for a while - don't worry! I'm determined to continue my efforts, even if I get sidetracked more often than I'd like.
