This update focuses on Katara’s first full visual direction, including outfit variations, water interaction tests, and improvements to base models and animation tools.
We introduced Katara with her first outfits and dynamic pose concepts, especially centered around water interaction and visual flow. At the same time, we refined lighting, turnarounds, and base models, while continuing development on Toph with new poses, textures, and animation tests.
We start with Katara, showcasing two outfit variations as her first official look.
The goal is to give her a dynamic pose, interacting with water in a more fluid and natural way. This is an early preview, but the intention is to make the water feel irregular, slightly broken in shape, and semi-transparent.
Here’s a closer look at the water details.
We applied adjustments to make it more visually interesting, and it’s now working very well for a turnaround presentation.
A key improvement was lighting.
By enhancing how light interacts with her skin and the scene, the result feels much more vibrant. This version with the bikini represents the current final direction.
With the turnaround corrected, these are the updated views of Katara.
Base models were also reorganized for version 5.1.
The female version now includes a Ripple rig and is better prepared for upcoming scenes. Both models were updated with improved viewport textures.
We also created a new turnaround for Toph, featuring a more dynamic pose and rock elements, along with different outfit variations.
We explored a new type of surface texture, aiming for a more cohesive and reactive material. This is the first test, and it already shows promising results.
After several tests, we rendered a new animation of Toph with audio.

Really happy with how things are evolving lately, especially seeing new characters like Katara take shape alongside everything else we’ve been building.
