Animation breakthrough - Smear effects, Maria updates and Supergirl's first look (NSFW)
Hi guys!!
Today's update brings a mix of completed animations, new gameplay-style effects, and continued progress on the Battle Maidens project. We also have a first look at a brand-new character joining our production pipeline.
This week we finalized Asami's latest animation, continued refining Grace and Maria's sequences, implemented new anime-inspired smear effects for smoother motion, organized more Unity assets, and wrapped up with the first preview of Supergirl from My Adventures with Superman.
We started by finishing Asami's latest animation.
You can now see it from several different camera angles, giving a better look at the movement and presentation. The complete version with audio is available in the project files.
We also reorganized both Blender files, allowing Grace's opening sequence to flow much better as the project continues to come together.
Returning to Maria, we kept refining her new animation.
The sequence now begins with her walking into the scene before transitioning into the rope-jumping routine. We're planning to add an extra transition animation between those two moments to make everything feel even smoother.
The jump loop is also receiving adjustments, with special attention being given to the rhythm and intensity of the movement.
To make the animation feel more dynamic, we're introducing additional camera changes along with classic anime-style motion effects.
One exciting discovery this week was a workflow that allows us to generate smear frames automatically, producing a very convincing effect on the rope movement.
Here's a preview of the smear effect by itself, without Maria or the rope.
This became one of the biggest technical improvements of the week and will help enhance many future animations.
The same technique was also tested on other parts of the animation to reinforce the feeling of speed and impact during fast movements.
After that, we tested the smear system directly inside Unity, where the effect translated very well.
The training environment also received another update, with baked textures now fully organized inside Unity.
We also began working on a new animation where Maria loses her rhythm while jumping rope.
It's still an early version, and several details remain to be polished, including arm movement, secondary animation, and a few additional refinements.
Finally, here's the very first look at Supergirl from My Adventures with Superman joining our production pipeline.
We're excited to start working on this character and will have much more to share in future updates.
Thank you all for your continued support and for following our progress every week. We have plenty of exciting things in development, and we can't wait to show you what's coming next.}
