The Dialogue Update is Here!
DESCRIPTION

Whew! It's finally here! The Dialogue Update has just launched for the Build and High Roller tiers! Subscribe for $5 to get access to the latest build, or $7 if you want to be really nice and cool.

WHAT'S NEW!

Dialogue! So much dialogue. Six times the dialogue of the previous build!!

This update was primarily to punch up the dialogue system, including several new functions and triggers. There are now significantly more conversations, reactions, and just Lines In General in the game. The gamblers might even stop at the end of the Deal segment to shoot the shit, or react to last round's loss, or flirt when their fellow player bares it all. Different gamblers at the table will mean different conversations. We hope this will make them feel more fleshed out and alive!

There's also a few new effects, such as a rose frame or floating petals. We have even more planned to add as we go on, but we've kept you waiting long enough.

WHAT ELSE?

This "what else" section is going to become a staple. We always start out with a basic plan for what the update should be and then one of us has an idea for another feature we want to roll out with it and suddenly it's another month or two later.

So we also added a new challenge in the form of gambler thresholds--if a gambler reaches a certain amount of cash on hand, they'll leave the table! Stripping them is no longer a game of attrition, these gals can still win! If a gambler reaches $1000 cash (or in Prill's case, $800) they're out of the game. We recommend keeping a glass of Risque Business nearby, in case they get too close...

Because this makes it a bit easier for you to lose, we've also added a new loss scene for Joker, featuring the Kings. He makes some very cute faces in it >:]

WHAT'S NEXT?

You should already know! It was months ago, but the $7 tier voted for the Bar Update, which will add a new location to the casino, and give you access to longer one-on-one conversations with the gamblers. This will also lay the foundation for story progression, and for acquiring new drink abilities (so enjoy them while you can, eventually you'll have to complete mini-games to earn those!)

We have no idea how long this one will take since it's a lot of writing and a lot of new systems to design and program, but we'll keep you up to date! Fortunately making an entire new location and system from scratch is a lot more interesting for devlogs than "I wrote a bunch of funny jokes today".

But hopefully you'll be having fun discovering all the new dialogue we've added while you wait :]

Thanks for your patience, and have fun!

(PS)

The actual winners of the promo poll were Prill and Joker, individually, buuuut we examined the results and found the most desired pairing was Prill and Noriko, so we went with them instead. This was definitely not biased by me also voting for Prill and Noriko to kiss.
