It’s funny - when I started this game Vanilla was very obviously my favourite. These were just her friends, created to steer her in the right (wrong?) direction… and that was it. But through their dialogue, and some of my fav CGs in the whole game, they kind of became alive in a way that I never really imagined they would. Vanilla… is still my favourite, but now there’s a but because I really like all of the side characters too.

I actually remember reading a comment somewhere about the onsen update that it was a complete waste of time and nothing happened and they don’t care about the stupid side characters - which made me really sad, because it wouldn’t be the same game without them. But then someone replied to them that the side characters were the best part of the game and that it was a great update and that made me happy.
