It has been quite awhile since the last update on this so i figured i would share the progress on it.Why is chapter 2 taking so long to come out? This chapter has been the unfortunate victim of going through several rewrites and the scope of it has constantly increased. It took 3 full rewrites and revisions to get to the final draft, which was finished this week. What's more, i have decided to fully re-render it. Why exactly?I have been in a very interesting point in my artist career where i have been learning more than my work can keep up with. Just recently, i have gone back to the drawing board completely on how i design models and atheistic. I have received a fair bit of criticism regarding my work on gatcha/anime characters starting to fall into the uncanny valley territory. Looking at it, i couldn't help but agree. So now, i want to dial it back a bit and start striving for a style that can still respect cell shaded designs. So, i adjusted the textures in ways that i could at least to dial down some of the photo-realism in the models. While this won't be a perfect fix, frankly its already a scene built of the old foundation. It should at least make it better. I will be conducting a poll soon, hoping to get everyone's opinions on this further. Along side that, there's been lighting changes as well that i think improve the scenes drastically/Here are some examples of the old vs new
How long is it?Around 400 pagesWill it be better composition/not be as text dense?Part of the rewrites have involved reducing text density and making the order of reading the comic bubbles more intuitive. This was a chief complaint of the prior chapter.Lastly, a little preview as well as some of the text from the final draftThis chapter will focus on Aether's first month in her service and his losing battle of will vs lust and Mona's hints at an ominous little secret she knows that no one, not even Aether, knows about.
