It's my last week in Romania! I spent it doing many exciting things, such as
reading a book about how Karl Marx definitely worshipped Satan for real
visiting castles in Transylvania
sucking up all the water in the hotel jacuzzi through my pores
watching Zoids (cool anime about Zoids)
enjoying a refreshing bubble tea
I've been really enjoying reading Lindsay Ellis' second sci-fi novel The Truth of the Divine (I simply like the aliens), but I've also been wanting to read some non-fiction. Learn things, etc. I'm not sure why I started with Marx & Satan by weird Romanian priest Richard Wurmbrand, but it really was a fascinating read. The man is not okay. I'll maybe read a more normal book next. Maybe.
Peleș Castle / Brașov / Bran Castle 🏰
My day out to Transylvania was really fun. We were a group of eight people and we went first to Peleș Castle, a beautiful German-style 19th century castle in the Carpathian mountains that was built for King Carol I, the first king of Romania. It's so ornate and cool-looking, and there's a nice café nearby where I had a perfect heart-shaped red velvet cake. Yum!
Next we went to Brașov for lunch and drove through a really cool-looking town called Comarnic. Almost every residence there has a homemade wooden balcony, and they look really pretty.
And then of course, the big boy. Dracula's lands. Dracula's home. Bran Castle. They have some cheesy stuff in there about zombies and ghouls and stuff, but the real frights are the extremely tight spiral staircases. There's nothing scarier.
Zoids (cool anime)
I found this anime using a website called spin.moe, which randomly chooses an anime for you. I was super curious which anime I would get, and it turned to be a pretty good pick! Zoids is good. Check out Zoids if you get the chance. Please enjoy a "Zoids meme":
