Ok. Forget about everything else, because the most important thing that happened to me this week is seeing Bad Cinderella on Broadway. I saw this nasty play on its opening week in the West End two years ago and I was delighted and cringed out by its particular pantomime blend of inane, empty, and dated social commentary and iconic slay. Andrew Lloyd Webber woke up and chose violence.

The small changes that were made at some stage between (or after) transfer are fascinating to me. The Broadway has kinda cheap looking costumes that in a way almost enhance the legendary crapness of the whole thing. The vandalising Cinderella does at the beginning of the show (formerly 'giving the Prince Charming statue a bra') is now a graffiti poster that reads 'beauty sucks', a choice so on-the-nose that it loops around from cringe back into being incredible.

I am beyond invested in this bizarre musical. And I'm very happy I got to see it twice. Seeing it in New York is truly an experience.

In other news, I've been reading Scott McCloud's well-known 'Understanding Comics' and it's pretty great. I'd like to get more acquainted with formalistic elements of comics (although this book is a little more theoristic than all that), and I'd like to 'draw comics' in a bit more of a regular and structured way. idk. Thinking about it. Pondering it.

Also, I finished Spider-Man (2018). And let me tell you... the Black Cat DLC is repulsive. lmao
