This is another highly requested add-on that finally made it to the top of the list.
The Can Tab Grab is a small can tab opener designed to help with stubborn cans, long nails, or just making the tab easier to lift in general. I tested it across a range of cans to make sure the fit is not overly specific to one can style, so compatibility should be pretty solid.
This is Version A, which uses a longer exposed hook design. The longer reach lets it engage more of the tab from front to back, which helps lift the tab more naturally instead of concentrating the force in one small area. That should also help reduce the chance of bending or snapping the tab on stubborn cans.
Because this version does not fully wrap around the width of the tab, the overall body can stay relatively narrow and compact.⚠️ Not intended for bottles. The Can Tab Grab is designed for can tabs only. Using it as a bottle opener may damage the part or significantly reduce its life. ⚠️
A few design notes:
No supports needed.
Prints quickly and easily.
Designed to print in a strong orientation for the lifting feature.
Split into multiple color-change sections for easy customization.
Includes a small hole for a key ring.
Includes a larger finger hole to help with grip and rotation, especially for people with long nails.
Face-down side has an area where a logo can be added.
The bottom two objects can be merged if you want a larger logo area.
Top surface includes a recessed panel so raised text or a logo can sit flush instead of sticking up past the rim.
Slight perimeter recess added as a decorative detail.
I’ll also be adding a Version B soon, which will use a more enclosed tab pocket design. I’m also looking at some additional versions, including more traditional layouts with larger logo placement areas.
