Can Tab Grab – Version C
This is my version of the popular pop can tab opener / tab lifter style design.
Version C is the more logo-friendly version of the Can Tab Grab. It prints face down, so the top/design face comes out clean, and it prints quickly with no supports needed.
I saved this file split into parts so it can be edited directly in Bambu Studio. That means you can do customization without needing to jump into full CAD software.
I also made a video walking through some of the basic edits:
In the video, I show how to:
Edit the text
Move or remove text
Swap out the base plate
Change the base plate size
Change the plate shape from square to cylinder
Add a hole to turn it into a keychain
Work through a few Bambu Studio details that can trip you up
You can keep the included base plate, scale it, swap it for another version, create a new primitive shape in Bambu Studio, or replace it with your own CAD-made plate if you want to go that route.
The main thing to watch is the bottom edge of the plate. If the plate gets too large or drops too low, it can interfere with the can. As long as the lower edge stays aligned close to the base model and the tab-engagement feature still has room to work, you should be in good shape.
For the plate thickness, I recommend keeping it at 0.10" thick.
Recommended material is PETG, but PLA works fine as well.
This version is probably the best option if your main goal is adding custom text or logos while still keeping the basic Can Tab Grab functionality.
