That Day When Suzuki-kun Wasn't the Mob-B! Chapter 285: The Faction Leaders Face the Demon
"So, to what do I owe the honor of everyone's presence here?"
Finn sat comfortably on the plush leather sofa of his Mie Prefecture villa, his posture incredibly relaxed despite the terrifying amount of power gathered in his living room. The morning sun filtered through the large glass windows, catching the dust motes in the air.
Before him sat the absolute apex of the supernatural world: the leaders of the Devils, the Angels, and the Fallen Angels.
Yet, Finn casually brushed his gaze right past Azazel. To Finn, the Governor of the Fallen Angels was practically a non-threat. Having already faced down the heavyweights of the Japanese pantheon, the power of a Fallen Angel hardly made Finn's heart skip a beat.
Instead, his eyes landed on the third figure. While Sirzechs and Azazel were expected annoyances, the presence of the man bathed in a soft, golden aura was a genuine surprise.
Michael. The Archangel. The de facto leader of Heaven.
To see someone of Michael's supreme holy stature sitting on a modern sofa in a seaside villa was surreal, yet Finn knew enough about the world's shifting plot to realize this summit had been brewing for a long time.
"Sorry to bother you while you are resting, Finn-kun," Sirzechs smiled, his voice as soft and perfectly diplomatic as always. "I hope our sudden arrival doesn't interrupt anything important."
Interrupt?
The atmosphere in the room was undeniably thick. The heavy, intoxicating scent of sweat, vanilla, and sweet feminine musk from the previous night's intense activities still lingered heavily in the air, completely overpowering the salty ocean breeze drifting in from the veranda.
Akeno stood gracefully by the wall, a deeply satisfied, sadistic little smile playing on her glossy lips as she served tea. Behind Finn stood Xenovia and Asia. Xenovia's usually sharp, warrior-like posture was replaced by a lazy, feline slouch. Her cheeks were still flushed a beautiful, rosy pink, and the radiant heat of her well-toned thighs pressed deliberately against the back of Finn's sofa.
"It's fine, Sirzechs-sama," Finn replied calmly. "But why did you two bring him along?"
"Don't act like we're strangers, Finn," Azazel sighed, placing a hand over his chest as if genuinely wounded by the cold shoulder. "We've known each other for a while now."
"Have we?" Finn raised a brow, the sound of his teacup clinking against the saucer echoing sharply in the quiet room. "Your follower went to Taiwan to kill me. One of your kin destroyed my girlfriend's home and tried to murder me. And then there's your adopted son, who also wanted my head on a platter before you finally decided to step in. Oh yeah, Azazel. I know you very well."
"..." Azazel opened his mouth, then slowly closed it, utterly defeated.
Frankly, it was a miracle Finn hadn't mounted Azazel's head on a pike yet. The true culprits were Kokabiel, Tobio, and Vali. Kokabiel was dead, Tobio was reduced to a normal human, and Vali? Finn couldn't care less. No matter how much the White Dragon Emperor trained, Finn knew his own growth would always eclipse him.
"Now, now, don't blame him too much, Finn-kun," Sirzechs quickly stepped in, trying to salvage the rapidly freezing atmosphere. "He is on the weaker side, after all."
"You make a fair point," Finn nodded sagely.
"....." Azazel slouched further into the couch, his pride taking critical damage.
It was a strange truth, but in the realm of raw, devastating power, Azazel lagged behind. Several high-ranking Rating Game champions could likely best him in a brawl. Azazel's true terrifying strength lay in his genius intellect—he was the master inventor of Artificial Sacred Gears. If anyone possessed the greatest mind in this universe, it was the man currently sulking on Finn's couch.
"Still, Azazel aside," Finn shifted his gaze, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Why is the leader of Heaven sitting in my living room?"
At Finn's question, the temperature in the room seemed to spike. While Akeno merely hummed in amusement, entirely used to Finn's casual disrespect of authority, the former church trio—Asia, Xenovia, and Irina—visibly tensed.
Then again, Xenovia simply looked down at the man who had thoroughly conquered her body and soul just hours ago, let out a soft, contented sigh, and puffed out her impressive chest, standing proudly as his personal guard.
Michael observed the girls, a deeply helpless, melancholic smile forming on his handsome face. "This is our first time speaking face-to-face. It is a pleasure to meet you, Finn Balam."
"Right," Finn replied, eyeing the Archangel strangely. "You don't seem to harbor much hatred toward me."
"Why should I? You haven't committed any atrocities, and the chaos surrounding you was instigated by others. Even if we belong to opposing factions, I hold no prejudice against you. Still..." Michael leaned forward, his golden eyes searching Finn's. "Do you hate me?"
"I don't feel anything toward you at all."
Finn's answer was brutally plain, stripped of any malice or awe. "We don't know each other. And since God died, you must be drowning in paperwork trying to keep the system running. It's only natural you couldn't handle everything."
"....."
Michael was left momentarily speechless by the sheer, blunt accuracy of Finn's assessment. He offered a wry, bitter smile. "But... may I still ask for your forgiveness?"
"For what?"
"For failing to perfectly replace our Father," Michael said softly, the weight of his holy duty heavy in his voice. "My inadequacies have caused immense misery to many, especially to those who placed all their pure, unwavering faith in the God of the Bible."
"You're only an angel, Michael," Finn said, waving a hand dismissively. "Even the brightest of you can fall—just look at the guy sulking next to you. Why carry the weight of the universe on your own shoulders?"
"...." Azazel took another stray bullet.
Michael laughed, an awkward but genuinely relieved sound, before turning his gaze toward the girls. "Finn... if it is permissible, may I speak to your servants?"
"Which ones?"
"The three of them," Michael gestured gently toward Asia, Xenovia, and Irina.
"Only Asia and Xenovia are my servants," Finn corrected, glancing toward the corner of the room. "The other one is still faithfully clinging to your belief system."
"Michael-sama!" Irina immediately stepped forward, bowing her head in profound, trembling reverence.
Was it just an act, or true devotion? Considering her pure, albeit wonderfully quirky nature, her faith remained strong. Yet, as she bowed, she couldn't help but squeeze her thighs together. Her body was still incredibly sensitive, flushed tight with the lingering, electric memory of Finn breaking her down and filling her with his own brand of 'holy water'. She belonged to Heaven in name, but her body had entirely memorized Finn's touch.
"Irina..." Michael looked at the twin-tailed girl with immense softness. "I apologize for not being able to save you immediately. And Finn-kun, I am deeply grateful that you protected her."
"Don't thank me just yet," Finn's voice suddenly dropped, carrying a chilling, possessive edge. "If she returns to the Church and is harmed in any way, do not blame me when I slaughter my way through your ranks."
"You have my word," Michael vowed solemnly. "I have reflected deeply on our system's flaws. If anyone attempts to harm her, I will personally punish them in the name of Heaven."
How does Heaven punish a mortal? Finn thought in amusement. By sending them straight to Hell.
Honestly, Michael was internally relieved. Even if the conservative cardinals labeled Irina a corrupted heretic for sleeping with Finn, her presence in his bed meant Finn had a reason to protect Heaven's interests. She was the perfect, beautiful diplomatic bridge.
"As for you, Asia Argento... I am so sorry I could not save you from your exile," Michael continued, turning to the timid blonde. "And Xenovia, I apologize for failing to give you peace of mind."
Michael knew the Church had failed Asia. It was a mechanical flaw in the system that branded a pure-hearted girl a witch simply for possessing a healing gift. As for Xenovia, Michael understood her pragmatic, warrior mindset. The Church could no longer offer her absolute safety or truth. Finding sanctuary and immense power at Finn's side was her most logical—and clearly, her most satisfying—choice.
"I-It's fine, Michael-sama! Please don't apologize!" Asia waved her hands frantically, her ample chest bouncing slightly beneath her clothes. She looked down at Finn with sweet, heavy adoration. "It was painful... but I am so glad it led me to Finn-sama."
"I am sorry for losing my faith in you, Michael-sama," Xenovia added, her voice much firmer.
Xenovia knew how ruthless the Church truly was. They wouldn't hesitate to execute heretics. When she learned the truth of God's death, she needed an anchor. Finn gave her unmatched protection, overwhelming pleasure, and absolute peace of mind. She was thoroughly addicted to him now; the Church was a distant memory.
"But," Xenovia's lips curled into a gorgeous, greedy smirk, her golden eyes flashing. "I can totally forgive you... if you let me keep Durandal and Excalibur Destruction."
"....."
Michael blinked, entirely thrown off by the blunt extortion. He sighed in defeat and nodded. "Yes... please keep them."
"Yes!" Xenovia cheered, pumping her fists excitedly, the motion drawing Finn's eyes directly to her swaying cleavage.
Michael just smiled helplessly. It was a necessary expense to buy Finn's goodwill.
"Alright, reunion over," Finn stated, leaning back into the sofa. "So, why exactly did the three of you march into my house today?"
"I'll take this one," Azazel said, finally sitting up straight. He rubbed his face, his expression turning deadly serious. The goofy fallen angel vanished, replaced by a hardened general preparing for the most difficult negotiation of his life. He looked at Finn, fully bracing himself for arguments, threats, and demands.
"Finn," Azazel began, his voice tense and heavily weighed with political implications. "The three of us have secretly agreed to form a permanent peace treaty between the factions. We want to end the Great War once and for all. But before we announce it... we need to know where you stand. What do you think?"
Azazel held his breath, ready to list a dozen calculated benefits to convince the anomaly sitting before them.
"Okay," Finn nodded.
"......."
Sirzechs froze. Michael blinked. Azazel's jaw practically hit the floor.
The three most powerful beings in the world sat in absolute, stunned silence, completely derailed by a single, effortless word.
