That Day When Suzuki-kun Wasn't the Mob-B! Chapter 306: Protecting the Slumbering Demon
A crushing, suffocating wave of exhaustion crashed over Finn. His vision blurred, swimming with dizzying colors as he felt the very fabric of his flesh and soul being violently torn apart and reconstructed.
While the absolute, cold logic of the Manager was firmly in control of orchestrating the physical evolution, Finn's consciousness stubbornly lingered, keeping him awake just long enough to realize he was hitting the critical threshold.
Could he fight in this state? Could he even stand?
[Notice. The evolutionary metamorphosis cannot be paused or aborted. It is highly advised that the user secures a safe location and requests allied protection immediately.]
Finn let out a sluggish, heavy breath. Despite the massacre unfolding exactly as he had planned, he knew how utterly defenseless he was about to become. He didn't doubt his own women, but the faction leaders—Sirzechs, Azazel, and Michael—were a completely different story. Could he blindly trust a Maou, a Fallen Angel Governor, and the leader of the Angels while he was essentially in a coma?
Absolutely not.
Finn had just slaughtered ten thousand living beings. His hands were stained with an ocean of blood. Unlike stories of naive slimes in other worlds who simply harvested human souls, Finn had devoured a staggering variety of elite supernatural entities, all saturated with the infinite, chaotic void energy granted by Ophis, the Ouroboros Dragon.
Now, all of that infinite energy belongs to me, Finn thought, a dark, primal satisfaction echoing in his fading mind. He genuinely wondered what kind of unprecedented entity he was about to become, knowing full well that a standard Devil's biology would instantly explode if it tried to contain this much power.
But to see that future, he had to survive the present.
"Kuroka."
"Yes, yes, nyaa~!"
His telepathic voice was faint and slurred, yet Kuroka responded instantly. She emerged flawlessly from the surrounding shadows, rushing to his side. She dropped to her knees, her voice laced with genuine panic through their mental link. "Are you okay, nyaa?!"
"I'm... crashing. Too weak to move," Finn projected heavily. "Protect me until the evolution is complete."
"I've got you. Don't worry about a single thing, nyaa."
Kuroka didn't hesitate. She had witnessed his apocalyptic display of power, and rather than fear, it had sent a deep, thrilling heat straight to her core. Her womb literally trembled at the sheer dominance he had exerted over the battlefield, completely cementing her absolute loyalty. She knew she hadn't chosen the wrong man, and she was going to defend her mate with all nine of her lives.
Evolution.
As a master of Senjutsu, Kuroka could physically feel the terrifying, dense cocoon of dark energy wrapping around Finn's body. It was like a monstrous bud, quietly pulsing with the promise of a world-ending bloom.
Meanwhile, just a few feet away, Ravel Phenex ran toward the bubbly Maou.
"Serafall-sama! Please, you have to help protect Finn-sama!" Ravel begged, her golden eyes shining with desperation.
"Hmm?" Serafall blinked, snapping out of her lustful daze.
Watching Finn's women immediately spring into a fierce, defensive formation, Serafall nodded. She twirled her magical girl staff, her eyes landing on the terrified, shivering form of Katarea Leviathan. "Alright, then. I'll leave the boy to you girls. I have a fake Leviathan to punish!"
"Leave him to me, nyaa!"
Kuroka fully activated Night Reflection. The shadows on the ground violently surged upward, swallowing Finn completely. She pulled his heavy, burning body directly into her arms within the pitch-black void. Her soft, generous curves pressed intimately against his chest, the heavy, sweet scent of her feline musk wrapping around him like a protective blanket.
But just as he slipped into the shadows, a suffocating, lethal aura locked directly onto Kuroka's position.
There was no battle cry. No arrogant monologue. Just pure, unadulterated killing intent.
Cao Cao had been patiently waiting in the invisible dimension for this exact microsecond of vulnerability.
"What?!"
Cao Cao's eyes widened in shock. He violently twisted his body in midair, swinging the golden shaft of the True Longinus to block a sudden, devastating strike aimed directly at his neck!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!
A deafening shockwave shattered the courtyard. Dust and debris exploded outward as several powerful figures suddenly dropped from the sky, landing squarely between Cao Cao and the shadows hiding Kuroka and Finn.
"What do you think you're doing, White Dragon Emperor?"
Cao Cao slid backward, his boots carving deep trenches into the concrete. Behind him, the elite cadres of the Hero Faction dropped out of Dimension Lost, their weapons drawn and auras blazing.
Standing effortlessly opposite the human hero was Vali Lucifer.
Vali didn't waver. He stood tall, his silver hair blowing in the wind. Flanking him were Bikou, Arthur Pendragon, and the rest of the Vali Team.
But they weren't alone.
Heavy, dark clouds suddenly blotted out the moon. The sharp, metallic tang of ozone filled the air as Akeno stepped forward, her eyes glowing with violent, sadistic lightning.
"Father. You're fighting with me," Akeno demanded, glaring sharply at Azazel's lieutenant.
Baraqiel let out a gruff sigh, but he didn't hesitate to step up beside his estranged daughter, his own holy lightning crackling dangerously around his fists. Xenovia, Asia, and Ravel instantly fell into formation behind them, ready to die for the man sleeping in the shadows.
"I should be the one asking you that question," Vali sneered, crossing his arms arrogantly. "Why did you suddenly attack the cat?"
Vali kept his expression flat, but internally, he was slightly annoyed. Cao Cao was a mere human, yet he possessed the reflexes to block a sudden strike from a Heavenly Dragon.
"Are you okay, Kuroka?" Bikou asked, leaning on his legendary staff as he glanced back at the writhing shadows.
Arthur remained completely silent, but he drew his holy sword, positioning himself as a flawless, impenetrable shield in front of Kuroka. It was deeply ironic for him to protect Finn—the man who would have gladly slaughtered him in Hong Kong before. But Arthur was a pragmatist. Joining Cao Cao was a suicide mission. Allying with Vali, who was stubbornly determined to keep Finn alive, was his only guarantee that his family wouldn't end up as splattered corpses like the Five Principal Clans.
Thank God I move fast, Arthur thought, breathing a quiet sigh of relief.
Cao Cao ignored the vanguard entirely, his single eye locked onto the shadows concealing Finn. "I told you to leave this alone, you impudent Devil. Step aside. I have a divine duty to fulfill. I must execute that nightmare before he fully awakens and destroys this world."
"You should be the one running away while you still have legs," Vali snorted, a cruel, battle-hungry grin spreading across his face. "If you claim to be a hero, you should fight your enemies head-on, not sneak around in the dark like a swarm of rats. You're incredibly lucky Georg's Dimension Lost gave you a place to hide. Aren't you afraid of tarnishing the legacy of your human ancestors, 'Hero'?"
"History is written by the victors. We are allowed to use any means necessary, so long as we win," Cao Cao narrowed his eyes, his grip tightening on the holy spear. "You are going to deeply regret protecting that demon, Vali."
"So what? He's a Devil. I'm a Devil," Vali shrugged, his demonic aura flaring violently. "A fragile little human like you could never understand."
Vali had no idea what had happened to Finn that this bastard needed time to recuperate after that brutal slaughter, but he didn't care. Vali wanted to fight Finn at his absolute, terrifying peak. He refused to let a human sneak-thief steal his ultimate prey!
"You truly dare to face me, White Dragon Emperor?" Cao Cao asked, raising the True Longinus. Its golden blade hummed with the oppressive, suffocating will of the Biblical God. "In front of my lance, your Heavenly Dragon is nothing but an oversized lizard."
"Try me."
Vali's eyes flashed with absolute, draconic wrath.
The courtyard fell into a deadly, suffocating silence. The air crackled with holy light, demonic power, and raw killing intent.
The lines had been drawn.
Protect Finn!
Kill Finn!
The clash between the ultimate human hero and the arrogant dragon was about to determine the fate of the entire supernatural world.
