Hello!

Here comes a gigantic Sci Fi update! High resolution turntables here.

Let's start with the undisputed King of the Monsters. 😱 Godzilla has been around for more than half a century and always manages to dominate pop culture no matter the decade. Interpretations have varied wildly depending on the creators. I'm a pretty casual Godzilla fan all things considered so I have no idea which movies are considered good or bad. This youtuber does. But I do know the most recent Godzilla Minus One achieved universal acclaim so that's nice. πŸ‘

So going by that movie's incarnation, Godzilla remains a giant behemoth that's pretty much an unstoppable force of nature. The Minus One version is densely packed with body detail including a skin bristling with a barnacle like hide and sharp coral shaped ridges. So I did my best to capture that detail while trying to convey the towering scale of Godzilla. The poster for this Minus One also looked really badass so I did version like that as well.

Next up, I'm starting my own Super Mutant project! Super Mutants are the product of exposing humans to the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). There's a lot of interesting theories about Super Mutants but that's for experts to discuss since the lore seems to have changed recently with different origin points. But in general, Super Mutants are huge towering brutes that love violence, turning squishy humans into their latest meal and a greatly diminished intellect. Although there are some notable exceptions of Super Mutants actually being genius level.

Anyways, this is my first pass on a Super Mutant which will end up scrapping with a Deathclaw once I have time to get to that. Stylistically, there was noticeable visual shift for Super Mutants between Fallout 3 and 4 onwards. In earlier games, Super Mutants were these giant hulking brutes who appeared in constant barbarian rage mode (i.e. just like the Hulk) while newer versions seem to make them look more like giant deflated balloons. I generally prefer the older styles since I find them way more cooler looking (and scarier). They look like how I feel whenever I need to assemble furniture. πŸ˜…

For some reason, I also started wondering how Super Mutants created the meat bags that they hang around to mark their territory. My theory is that they strap a hapless human to a makeshift club, then bash them on enemies like a grotesque meat tenderizer until you get that mulchy consistency. Makes sense to me so I gave the Super Mutant that kind of weapon.

Oh, and I managed to add Togusa into Makoto's roster. The crew is growing!

So I'm not sure how many more squad mates I can include this month. I'm at the point in monthwhere I need to start optimizing the designs. Would fans prefer I keep trying to add the remaining ones or pose the existing personnel? Please let me know in the comments.

Finally, Grimdark voting will be up next week. So this month I'm probably going to try and get the Repentia and Typhus proxies done as they've been queued for quite a while.

I also wanted to try something a little different this month. By now, long term community members know what I've done in the Grimdark universe and what's available from different creators.

So the question I want to ask is, do you think there's something no one has done and the Angry Company is incapable of giving you? What can I do in Grimdark Month that will be special to you and no one else can provide? For example, do you think it's time I finally do that diorama where Corax beats the crap out of Lorgar? Or maybe there's some special Grimdark moment in history that deserves some attention?

Basically I'm trying to collect fresh ideas that haven't been done before by anyone or at least in the way I can do it. There's still some time so please add suggestions here. Thanks!
