Hello!
The next Fantasy update is here! This is a preview for next month's release. High resolution turntables here.
In this update, we're introducing a new member from the Heroes of the Lance! Caramon Majere is the twin brother of Raistlin Majere and they are said to be two halves of a whole - brains versus brawn. He is described as a massive, kind-hearted human warrior and a brilliant fighter who acts as the muscle of the party. Caramon may have lacked his twin brother's vast arcane intellect, but he possessed an abundance of practical wisdom, emotional intelligence, and unwavering empathy. This is something even Raistlin himself acknowledged and respected.
As one member of the Heroes of the Lance, Caramon is most famously remembered as the savior of Krynn. No spoilers but he prevented Raistlin from doing something that would have been terrible for everyone. He eventually settled down and became the beloved proprietor of the famous Inn of the Last Home, solidifying the Majere legacy as one of the most famous and heroic bloodlines on Krynn.
From a concept art perspective, I did find Caramon's depictions to be somewhat inconsistent. His costume seems to change based on the story and edition. So I tried to abide by the most original concept I could find and made a few tweaks for practicality reasons.
Next up is the vampire Akasha from the The Vampire Chronicles. In that series, Akasha was the mortal queen of Kemet when she and her husband, King Enkil, were attacked by the spirit Amel. Amel merged with Akasha, making her the world's first vampire. All other vampires trace their bloodline back to Akasha so she is known as the Mother of all Vampires.
The character is most famously portrayed by the late singer Aaliyah in the 2002 movie adaptation Queen of the Damned. Stylistically, Akasha is actually one of the most consistent I've seen in concept with a large decorative headress and intricately detailed jewelry. So I based her costume style and pose from the 2002 movie.
Last but not least is the Space Viking in heavy tank armor! This was supposed to be part of last month's Grimdark lineup but I simply didn't have the time to get to them. Since there's a huge thematic fantasy overlap, I'm including him in this month's lineup. The idea is for this character is that he's wearing heavy tank armor that's also been crafted by a Master Smith. The Space Viking will come with intricately detailed armor and different wargear combination. Here's one set so far but I'll make more down the line.
Next up are character poses and more updates from the first Fantasy WIP this month! If you're a fan of any of these characters, please feel free to leave a suggestion on what more you'd like to see done for them. There will also be a Sci Fi poll coming up later this week. Please have your suggestions submitted in the next few days. Thanks!
