SDL update for January 2018
DESCRIPTION

This was a less visible month; most of my work went to a few uninteresting bug fixes, the Nintendo Switch port, and security fixes that haven't been disclosed yet.

We have separate (non-public) repositories for Nintendo 3DS and Switch now. If you have a Nintendo Developer account with access to either of these devices, you can drop me a line and I'll give you access to the sources. Being Mercurial, we just pull the latest mainline SDL changes into it without much drama. Anyone can get free access to the 3DS SDK by signing up at developer.nintendo.com (tools and documentation are free after you sign up, but you have to pay for developer hardware if you want it). Switch access isn't available to the public at the moment, but if you happen to have it, you can watch along on my Switch porting work.

The security fixes are formal things, with CVE identifiers and everything. They are fixed in revision control and will be going out in a formal release before I speak on them more formally. This should be disclosed in the next few days, I think.

Next major efforts for me are more work on the Switch port and updating our Wayland backend (now that you can install Ubuntu 17.10 and get Wayland by default, not to mention the many distros that beat it there).
