SDL 2.0.10 is officially released, go get it!
This one took 268 days, and encompasses 578 commits.
For 2.0.11, we're going to try something different. We're going to make an attempt at doing releases every three months, and we're going to try to aggressively slaughter bugs that are listed in the bugtracker, so we have less bugs that live forever in there.
A huge problem we've had for years is people saying "we need this fix shipped now" and then having to wait seven more months until we decide to bless a new release. And that blessing is fairly arbitrary--mostly when Sam and I decide it's Good Enough, which is such a mercurial target and depends as much on how we feel about life at the moment as it depends on the quality of the code.
We aren't committing to this forever; we just want to see if it will work. If it doesn't, or if we lack the discipline to make it work, we'll go back to being loosey-goosey about it.
So if this works out, hopefully you'll be hearing about 2.0.11 right around Halloween.
Outside of SDL, I'm crunching on a game and a fun open source tool, both of which I expect to ship in August, so stay tuned, y'all!
