Release tomorrow! Relicts of Aeson (almost) weekly report #6. Maid school almost done!

HELLO!I’ve finished almost all of the animations for update 0.25! The level is also mostly complete. I’d still like to add another small stealth area where Ariana can interactively seduce a few guards. The animations for that are already done as well. I’m planning to keep this stealth section fairly simple so I can finish it more quickly.

The highlight of v0.25 will be the maid school! It’s part of the new game’s starting area. Ariana and Kate must prove themselves worthy of serving as maids in the Duchess’s castle.

Ariana struggles a bit at first, but Kate will help her out ;-)

For this update, I wanted to focus more on the characters’ emotions. Because of that, I added more animated details to their faces. Their eyes move more, the mouth opens, and the eyebrows show more expression as well. I think this helps the characters feel more alive and makes the scenes more engaging.But anyway, I’m sure you want to see more animations ;-) After some time, Ariana will slowly start to open up... As another small gimmick, one of the scenes in this update is shown from two different perspectives.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been playing a few other games myself. One thing I realized is that I should add a bit more tension and buildup before things really start. Ariana and Kate will unexpectedly find themselves in the middle of the maid training. At first, the scene takes a bit of time to explain where they ended up and what is actually going on. In the beginning, it’s not immediately clear where things are heading.

In the maid training scene, the male participants will first come running into the room, also to build up some tension. Abby will happily show just how excited she is before immediately throwing herself at one of the gentlemen.

Sorry for the delay. This update ended up having more animated scenes than I originally planned :-) I still want to make one more scene with Kate, and after that, I’ll finish implementing the remaining content.
