"The Throne of Dahaka"
Yet again, this piece was a massive victim of time crunch, as per the norm nowadays given that I've got a job, family, and commissions and other project stuff to deal with. It's been a rough ride this year and will definitely be for ages to come, but I'm glad you guys have been supportive all the same after so long! Thank you so much!
I don't think I did that good with the lighting and shading for this one, especially given that there were two sources of light that complicated things a little (I usually use just one), but I didn't want to leave the negative space untouched; the torches and throne definitely look undercooked compared to the women themselves here, though. The background too is a little less elaborate than I'd have liked for a nice little excursion into some deathtrap-laden ancient ruins somewhere, but I did at least include some (royalty-free) stone texturing to keep it from looking too plain, though in hindsight some cracks and moss might've added visual interest as well. I've already mentioned that this artwork was horribly rushed from start to finish, but it really says a lot about how much I've grown as an artist that I still feel like I got something good out of it even with literally only a week or so to work on it between all the other responsibilities I had. Still, I might have to try something a little simpler for next month's reward...
