EN:Hello everyone! It's Kumo!I'd like to formally introduce a "Character" I've been featuring for a while but never actually talked about! His name is "Y-N", Pronounced: WAI-EN, which means "Your Name"!
Y-N has been the character's POV or male protagonist for a lot of the work I've done so far, especially ones where there is no clear male protagonist for the female character being featured!To clarify, Y-N's role is to fill up any the following roles:
The male protagonist for a series where there is no canonical love interest for the female character.
The placeholder character for series where the main character does not have a canonical face or appearance.Ex. Sensei (Blue Archive), Commander (NIKKE, Girls Frontline, etc.), Doctor (Arknights)
Act as a self-insert for users who prefer to immerse or imagine themselves as the male character.
To represent a male character within the same series as a placeholder if I cannot feature them for reasons such as lack of dataset or generation problems.Ex. Wise (Zenless Zone Zero), Naoto Hachiouji (Senpai from Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san), Wakana Gojo (My Dress-up Darling)
Y-N's FeaturesIn terms of features, Y-N does not have a specific hair color, body composition, or any distinct feature at all. He is simply a flexible character that will be adapted based on what the work requires. Does Y-N affect the quality of the work or the relationship dynamics?Technically, nothing will change in terms of the quality or "relationships" of the characters being portrayed. Y-N is simply a character that serves as a male protagonist whenever I don't have options for a male character.Why am I introducing this character now?Moving forward, all new works that require a nameless or featureless male protagonist will have a Y-N tag as the placeholder. This is so that it's easier to keep track and identify what kind of male protagonist will be featured for the work.What inspired this change?I've seen Japanese works that applied the same concept to their nameless male characters, such as 「夢主人公」 (Yume Shurinjinkō / Dream Protagonist) or 「男主」 (Otokonushi / Male Protagonist), often referred to as a 「ネームレス」 (Nameless) character. These concepts made me realize that I've been doing it all along, and decided to make things official on my side!So yeah! That's about it! 今回は、以前から作品に登場させていたものの、これまで詳しく触れてこなかった「とあるキャラクター」について、正式に皆さんにご紹介したいと思います！
彼の名前は*「Y-N」*（読み方：ワイエン）。「Your Name（あなたの名前）」を意味しています！ Y-Nは、これまでの作品の多くでキャラクターの視点（POV）や男主人公を務めてきました。特に、お相手の女性キャラクターに公式の男主人公がいない作品で活躍しています！
分かりやすく言うと、Y-Nは以下のような役割をすべてカバーするキャラクターです：
女性キャラクターに公式の恋愛対象がいない作品での男主人公。
主人公の公式な顔やビジュアルが存在しない作品での身代わり（プレースホルダー）キャラクター。
例： 先生（ブルーアーカイブ）、指揮官（勝利の女神:NIKKE、ドールズフロントラインなど）、ドクター（アークナイツ）
自分自身を男キャラクターに投影して、作品に没入したい方向けの自己投影（夢）キャラクター。
データセットの不足や生成の不具合などの理由で、その作品の公式男性キャラを登場させられない場合の代役。
例： アキラ（ゼンレスゾーンゼロ）、八王子直人（『イジらないで、長瀞さん』の先輩）、五条新菜（その着せ替え人形は恋をする）
◆ Y-Nの特徴について
見た目の特徴として、Y-Nには特定の髪色や体型、その他の目立った特徴は一切ありません。作品のニーズに合わせて柔軟に姿を変えられる、シンプルなキャラクターです。
◆ 作品のクオリティや関係性に影響はある？
技術的には、描かれるキャラクターたちのクオリティや「関係性」が変わることは何もありません！Y-Nは、男性キャラクターの選択肢がない場合に、男主人公としての役割を果たしてくれる便利なキャラクターという位置づけです。
◆ なぜ今、このキャラクターを紹介するの？
今後、名前や特徴のない男主人公が必要な新しい作品には、すべてプレースホルダーとして「Y-N」のタグを付けることにしました！こうすることで、その作品にどんなタイプの男主人公が登場するのかを、皆さんにより分かりやすく整理・特定できるようにするためです。
◆ この変更のきっかけは？
日本の作品で、名前のない男性キャラクターに対して「夢主人公」「男主」、あるいは「ネームレス」といった概念が使われているのを目にしたことです。これらの概念を知ったとき、「自分もずっと同じことをやっていたんだ！」と気づき、自分の活動でも正式にこの設定を取り入れることにしました！
