It's time to talk about the next update! 👺Lately, I've been thinking a lot about the next update and this is my conclusion.I want to make the Claire secs 💕scene/event for the next update, but I'm not sure how to approach it. Basically, there are two options.First option. I focus mainly on the art side of the game. That means finishing the Claire scene/event and also working on locations and other visual stuff.Second option.I do all of the above plus work on the logic / systems / mechanics of the game.To be honest, the game still looks distant from how I imagine it in my head (world), and to really move it in that direction I need to work more on that side + some stuff feels kinda buggy. It's necessary and it will happen eventually… but it also means the update would take at least 2 months to complete... But still necessary😅

I'm not sure what should I do and I think it's better to leave it up to you. 🐮

Finish the Claire scene/event + art-related stuff

This means the next update will 100% be finished in February, and it will include everything I manage to complete until then leaving the rest for the next update (0.8+).

Work on all of that + logic / systems / mechanics

This would make the update more complete and grounded, but it would take more time (at least 2 months).

About game's art style.

I'm a lil unsatisfied about last update event. I don't think it's inherently bad I wanted to portrait something different and it ended up looking a little stiff, not very expressive, and maybe not self explanatory? Something just looks wrong to me.So for the next update I want to push the art a bit more. More expressive, and if possible, more context in the illustrations. Of course, not every single one has to be like this, but I want to try it in the ones if it fits.

About Claire’s design, I think I'll stick with something in-between her first design and the latest one. I think she looks very cute, but also kind of "old" at the same time. I don't want her to look too realistic, so I'll probably stay with this style for a good while, maybe even make it the definitive one. Future characters will be designed around a similar style.

And lastly, just so this post isn't only text I made this doodle. Do you like it? I think she looks really cute here, maybe I could use something like this (or similar) for the next update 🫣

Oh, and I also wanted to share more about the vision of the game and what you can expect in the future… but I'll save that for another post because this one is already getting pretty long 😅Ty. 🐔
