Hey everyone! Today, I want to give you a quick intro to a new face: Buck Garrison.
He's Margaret's husband, Jimmy's dad, and a basketball scout for the University of Mysteria. Now, if you've been paying close attention to the previous dialogue, you might remember him as "Kevin." Well, he's got a new name now, and here's why:
This guy loves calling himself "Coach," and he makes the college kids (and even his own son) call him Coach B. If I kept his name as Kevin, he'd be "Coach K"-and in the basketball world, Coach K is an absolute legend. It'd be like naming a random player MJ, it just takes you out of the story. Plus, the neighbors already whisper that he's called Coach B because the "Class A" guys are the actual coaches, while he's just a scout.
Quick side note on names: since this is an adult VN, we usually stick to first names to keep things simple for players worldwide. So 90% of the time, you'll just see "Buck." But full names will drop when it matters-like with Justine Trueman, a very important MILF down the road (if you've been reading closely! 😉).
One thing I want to make clear: I hate repeating myself. Jimmy and Margaret are not going to be a carbon copy of Donna and Ben from Milfy Day. This family dynamic is completely different. Jimmy is a troublemaker who likes to take matters into his own hands-or at least, he thinks he does. As for Coach B, back in his prime, he was a star college player nicknamed "The Locksmith" for his insane defense. He wasn't Class A, but he was still the big man on campus who could have picked any girl for prom. Yet, he chose Margaret, who was a total nobody back then. Why did a campus star marry a nobody? Well, our MC is going to dive into that mystery, and maybe a few other things-as the story unfolds.
Speaking of the world itself, I like keeping the game's universe separate from reality. That's why you'll run into agencies like the FBY and CYA, or hear people mentioning a fictional place called Boreas. I'm leaning into that alternate-universe atmosphere just to give myself more creative freedom with the storytelling.
On the development side, I've been grinding away this past week. The Bonus Video is almost wrapped up! I've also overhauled the gameplay flow for Mystery Of Milfs: you'll now see clear event triggers on the map instead of just clicking around and hoping for the best. I'll share more details on that next week.
