[FRESHMAN] Production Update #2

Another Batch of Episodes Greenlit!

The cast and I are so thrilled with the amazing response in these first three weeks. Because of your support, I'm greenlighting another batch of episodes!

I keep saying thank you, but the truth is I started dreaming up this project twelve months ago, and poured a ton of time into the concept and thousands of dollars into these first few episodes. It's been a long, nervy wait to discover that there are so many people who share the enthusiasm the cast and I have for this longer, narrative experience. Your support is the absolute reason this show is possible and why I can pay the cast and push forward with more episodes.

Episode 3

Production on Episode 3 is going really well and it will drop on the 20th.

All four cast members appear in this one and they're all phenomenal once again. The episode really challenged them to deliver convincing performances in a rather noisy collegiate setting.

I like to push realism in the background ambience as much as possible -- that's what really makes you feel like you're there -- but I've never taken it as far as I have with this episode. For that reason, I will be using one such scene as the next Audio Preview and calling on the Junior tier for feedback! You guys are honorary co-producers on this one.

Here's a peek at what my project files look like. There's an absurd number of SFX, all individually placed in 3D sound, several music tracks, dialogue, dozens of automated plugins... It's incredibly time-consuming but it's a labor of love!

Writing

I’ve also started writing the next batch, incorporating your poll results, as well as further developing character arcs in future episodes and seasons. This really is just the beginning.

As our Patreon community grows, we'll be able to ramp up the bonus content, like additional character-voiced audio and character art.

LookingForMyBlueSky

You'll have seen the news that LookingForMyBlueSky is our fourth cast member and will debut in Episode 3. We've prepared a fun little 'welcome to the cast' audio, we just ran into a little hiccup last week as one of the actors came down with a cold and lost her voice. So that'll need another week and should be out mid-Feb.

Art

I received the initial sketch of the new banner art and it's already so gorgeous. It was pointed out (thank you!) that Patreon adds this weird gradient thing to the banner; I'm working with the artist to make sure it doesn't spoil it!

In addition to the banner, I commissioned two pieces of character art -- one for Episode 1 Alice and one for Episode 2 Morgan -- so you'll get your first look at those characters soon. I spent several days handpicking artists and I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the two I commissioned. They are, however, very in-demand artists, so it'll be a few weeks.

One aspect I've yet to decide on is Morgan's hair, so I'll likely add that as another poll asap before the artist has done coloring or they'll refuse to work with me ever again.
