I thought I could start sharing a bit more snippets through text rather than screenshots. I usually avoid giving snippets cuz I tend to want to gatekeep everything, but I'll try to be more lax on this hahahaha
Snippet 1: Emily's (the doc) version
You wanted to invite Emily, but the doc apologized profusely, saying she had plans with her little family. You would've accepted easily if it weren't for the odd hint in her voice you couldn't decipher. The same she had when she called you in the middle of the night before you even decided to meet her for the second time after having lost El.
You did accept the gentle refusal.
1, But you also asked her what was wrong.2, But you just found it strange—probably the stress of the holidays overwhelming her.
Snippet 2: Athiel's version
Athiel doesn't seem to feel your heavy gaze on $a_them—no, correction, $a_they doesn't seem to want to notice your presence at all. $a_Theyre standing in front of the glass doors next to your brother, their backs to you as they discuss about something you can't quite catch from where you are, though you do hear a few words that tells you Vince is ranting about uni and his finals.
Meanwhile, Athiel nods and comments with enough sass to make your brother rolls his eyes skyward without real heat, bumping the model with a lazy smile and shooting back retort you can't hear.
Snippet 3: Vailyn moment
Eyes sliding up while you rinse the pot, you frown slightly. "What is it?"
Vailyn seems to mull over their words, eyes still scanning your features. Then. "I'm just trying to see if you're okay," they offer a soft smile, different from the theatrical ones, and making you aware that they're going to be serious with what they're about to say. "I'll leave a plate for $e_them tonight. Would you mind it?"
($e_them is El btw.)
Okay, that's enough for today. I have the urge to both spill more and keep it all to myself until the next demo update. Hope you enjoyed it so far, even if there's not much. I'll try to share more snippets when I can :))
Btw, we're past 100k for chap 4, and I'm so excited to reach the end with the revelations and the different ways to learn about the bombshell!!
