Using this model is starting to become torture hehe🫠. Yesterday I spent a large part of the day figuring out how to use the Ghislaine model.
SUMMARY (You can skip it by scrolling down):To begin with, her nipples weren’t showing. While trying to fix that, I realized she actually has two overlapping bodies—another problem… I didn’t know whether I should use both or just one. I looked up an NSFW video of someone using the same model and saw that I was supposed to use only the muscular version.
Another problem: I noticed the muscular body had gaps all around it, like it was some kind of armor. I fixed that by enlarging its black edges. Then I fixed the nipples by directly disabling the mask that hides parts of the body, which shouldn’t be necessary—normally you’re supposed to show or hide things using values from 0 to 1.
Another issue: the mouth had no shadows. I fixed that by enabling simplify. Then another problem appeared—I noticed that when rotating the head, it deformed, as you can see in the image. Basically, the white part of the eye would stick out of the head. I spent hours trying to fix it, I even asked my “financial advisor” (ChatGPT), which didn’t help.📌
I decided to give up and looked for another model in that “gold mine” I mentioned. Another problem: Ghislaine has a muscular and unusual design for a female character, so I couldn’t find a decent one. I tried one that looked similar to her—another problem—missing textures and mods. I fixed that by downloading mods from another site. That worked, but I still wasn’t convinced with how it looked, and on top of that I realized that some models are a bit heavy for my PC. Either way, I wasn’t satisfied. I’ll just say it now: that “gold mine” is terrible at making male characters.📌
So I went back to fixing the first model. I found a weird workaround by duplicating the head bone and making all the face vertices follow that bone. It seemed to work, but when rotating the head further, the problem was still there. Basically, it only worked as a small patch.
Finally, today I managed to fix it by realizing the issue was only in the eyelids. I tried fixing it by adjusting the face weights, which basically determine how much a bone influences the character’s skin. Then I realized that for some reason, the person who uploaded the model had disabled some bone settings responsible for rotating properly with the head.📌In the last picture of Ghislaine you can see that she rotates her head without problems.END OF SUMMARY👈
I just want you to see how long this summary ended up being. I left out a lot of details to keep it from getting even longer.
Second, I wanted to tell you where that “gold mine” is. It’s basically a program many of you probably know called “Koikatsu.” It cost me $60 and 60GB of storage to get it ready for downloading and exporting models to Blender. I don’t know why some people don’t like models from this program, since it’s really just a matter of finding one that closely resembles the character I want. I included some examples in the images so you can see how similar they are to the original characters. And just in case, I’ll clarify that I’ll be using these models in Blender, not in Koikatsu.
