Lick Of The Day #8 - Tornado Of Souls

Next Post
DESCRIPTION

Alright my friends in the Shred Guitar Community - it's time to check out an infamous classic now. This is the well known pull-off lick in the guitar solo of the Megadeth song 'Tornado Of Souls', originally performed by Marty Friedman. This solo has been the big test for every new Megadeth lead guitar player and I love to watch their different executions!

This is a great example of a very fast but catchy lick. By working with this specific rhythmic pattern, that is repeated with different notes, the lick will stick with the listeners while also being technically impressive. I had to work quite a bit to get the stretching down, take it easy and don't injure your left hand when you practice this lick! Start very slow and try your best to play clean and well articulated notes when you start working on it. The pull-offs have to be just as loud as your picked notes. It will get better with every practice session!
