Lick Of The Day #11 - Sweeping and Tapping

Next Post
DESCRIPTION

This time we combine 2 topics we already checked out here at the Shred Guitar Community - sweep picking and tapping. That's a quite common thing for modern shred players to do, that doesn't mean that it's easy though. You need to master the combination of those 2 motions, the listener should not hear that you are breaking up your sweeping sections to tap a note in the higher registers, it should sound like one connected stream of notes. Again, start very slow and focus on the connection of those 2 different parts.

I chose Fmaj7 and Cmaj7 arpeggios for this lick, they sound a bit more interesting than the usual basic arpeggios. They both include the major seventh aside from the root, major third and perfect fifth.
