Chapter creeps through abandoned hospital hallways, peeking into rusty rooms, sniffing out empty beds, heading for the wild party beyond the final doors.

Epub version of the chapter is also attached below, as always!
And! We! Are! Back! Thank you all so much for your patience, dear readers; it's been a rough few weeks for me, but things are back to normal now, my writing schedule and the story itself are both firmly back on track, and Heather is ... well, back to her usual tricks, as we are about to see!
As for the upcoming schedule, I had a couple of readers ask if next week is a break week like normal, and I want to make sure I've clarified this - it's not! There will be a chapter next week, and the week after that, at the very least. I'm not sure what I'll do if arc 24 goes beyond 36 chapters; I may take a break week like normal, or I may simply ride the wave to the end.
Speaking of which, yes, we might maybe possibly perhaps be going to 37 chapters! I'm genuinely not sure at this point. I'm no longer in full narrative control of the story right now; Heather herself - and well, everyone else - has wrested it from me, long ago. I'm giving the final part of Book One all the space it needs, and that means as many chapters as required - 37, 38, 40(?!) whatever! Though I still suspect 36 might be the ending. We'll see! Heather's still got a trial ahead of her, deep in the dream.
I do hope you enjoy this one, dear readers! Onward we go, back to the falling walls of Cygnet Asylum.
