Finding Color in the Ashes 2.6
DESCRIPTION

Hey everyone! We've got a new build for Finding Color in the Ashes. The 2.6 update is pretty substantial combat balance, with a bunch of new status effects, adjusted rewards, and a new patrol type: Dungeons!

The dungeons are in their infancy, and will get more fleshed out with updates. They allow you to have multiple combats in a day, and are tied into Scout's story. Once you've cleared at least one dungeon with Scout, they will all become available to explore with Lucy as well.

Additionally the interact with companions action has been moved from the morning time slot to the afternoon one, and a variety of other changes have found their way.

Thanks for supporting the game, and we hope you enjoy the update!

Alpha 2.61 Patch Notes

Added

  • New combat art for dungeon backgrounds

  • Redraw of Ghoul and Skeleton Monsters

  • New monsters: Elder Ghoul and Tombguard - both show up in some of the dungeons

Adjustments

  • Adjusted fail states in dungeons (losing a fight should kick you out of the dungeon now)

Fixes

  • Dodge crits weren't working on Scale Mail and Plate armors

Alpha 2.6 Patch Notes

Added

  • Dungeons can be found in the meadows, ruins, and gnoll hill regions (explore them to 100%).

    • While on patrol, you may encounter a dungeon POI.

    • Dungeons can be explored for loot and unique equipment, and play a role in Scout's story.

    • New items have been added for dungeon exploration: lockpicks, ropes, and torches. These can be bought from the general goods merchant.

    • Dungeon exploration will eat away at your stamina, health, and mana. Use potions to extend your delves.

    • Dungeon exploration progress is saved between delving attempts

    • Dungeons currently pay out a small pile of treasure, but in future updates will provide unique loot.

    • Dungeons are repeatable, but the first clear will give a key fragment for Scout's story.

  • Combat status effect overhaul. There are now 7 status effects (up from 2):

    • Bleed - Dice rolls are 1d3 instead of 1d6

    • Poison - lose health each turn, cannot reduce below 1 health

    • Curse - Cannot heal

    • Corruption - Increase fracture every turn

    • Rooted - Cannot dodge

    • Panic- Cannot use items, drink potions, or recover

    • Tired- Dice pools are halved (to a minimum of 1)

  • Enemy special attacks: most monsters now build up to a special attack every couple turns. These attacks inflict status effects on the player.

  • Burst Potions - these instantly grant +3 Action points to your companion in combat

  • New Sex Scene (Ailis)

Adjustments

  • Slight adjustment to button UI to differentiate them from other UI elements

  • Cannot accesss companion, Hire, or inn project screen while on patrol

  • Improved effectiveness of stamina and mana potions in combat (5d6 instead of 3d6)

  • Adjusted encounter tables

  • Inventory screen UI change - There are now 2 tabs

  • Scout's dialog and story have been adjusted to fit with the new dungeons

  • Moved companion hangouts from morning time slot to afternoon time slot

  • Reduced EXP for most monsters, left the early monsters (wolf + echo) as is.

  • Skeletons, Wights, and Forvalaka's are immune to Scout's Hypnosis

Fixes

  • Patrol map UI problem
