Originally, the conversation between Gabriel and Alex was going to end with Alex asking Gabriel what he could change about his appearance. Gabriel would suggest that he'd look even cuter with straight hair, so when they met again, Alex would show up with his hair permanently straightened and cut into a blunt style.
In the end, I decided to scrap that idea because I think Alex looks much cuter with his original design, and changing his hair would have been a bit of a waste (even though I absolutely love makeover stories).
Also, having him do something more drastic than just straightening his hair would have hinted at how he's going to behave later in the story.
Originally, Alex was going to give Gabriel a little letter asking him out on a date, along with his phone number. I ended up simplifying that part to speed up the story a bit. It would have been a really cute way to show just how shy Alex is. In that scene, he would also have had very straight hair to show that he was trying to impress Gabriel.
Originally, Gabriel was going to imagine himself with bangs during a conversation with his sister. That was part of my original outline, before I decided to add Alex to the story. At first, Alex wasn't even supposed to appear until after this chapter, and only if the comic ended up being successful.
I ended up changing quite a few things throughout the comic. I hope those changes made it better. ^^
