Greetings, fellow music fans. I hope you've prepared your mind for a couple of playful tears in the fabric of reality. This musical journey comes courtesy of a special request to produce the track.
In Episode 1 of Andor, the title character enters a brothel on Morlana One where we are introduced to a startling revelation: EDM exists in the Star Wars universe. Turns out it's not all j'izz and big band, this galaxy also has DJs! The fan base hates it!
Fast forward to Episode 7 and Andor finds himself on the pleasure planet Niamos, where we hear the track once again. This must be a banger for it to reach this far. People from the wet cyber streets of crime world to the hedonistic beach crowds of space Miami can't seem to get enough of it. The fan base is bemused!
Things cool down in the pop culture side of Andor for a while as the political intrigue heats up. Mon Mothma is burning the candle at both ends trying to maintain appearances while financing the rebellion. Her immediate goal is to simply make it through her daughter's wedding, where she is quickly unraveling. Right when it seems like she can't take it anymore, the wedding DJ drops the hottest, and at this point possibly the only track in the known universe. The fan base loves it!
With this track spreading across millions of light years, did you really think it wasn't going to find its way to Tatooine? The music scene already appears to be thriving, and the people there come from all over. It's entirely reasonable to think at some point, the Modal Nodes finished their hit song only for a rowdy drunk to stand up and yell "Now do Niamos!" It's actually not even the first time this has happened, and Figrin D'an was ready. He had already toiled day and night to achieve a seemingly impossible task: to somehow manipulate the traditionally fussy instruments of classic j'izz wailing in order to recreate a completely electronic track. But Figrin is nothing if not a crowd pleaser, and somehow he did it. And that rowdy drunk absolutely shit his pants in awe.
In reality, it wasn't Figrin D'an. It was Craven, manipulating the various tubes and knobs of the j'izz wailer in order to bring you today's musical offering, and I, for one, am shitting my pants in awe.
Enjoy!Zak
