Terra Nova: The Cape Crozier Party
DESCRIPTION

In 1911, during the Antarctic Terra Nova Expedition, a three-man party trekked on foot during the coldest months of winter to try fetch some unhatched Emperor Penguin eggs for science. It was written about in detail by one of its members, Apsley Cherry-Garrard in his book The Worst Journey in the World.

No doubt this was one of the most horrid camping trips known in recent history, and this clip is a short excerpt showing some of what they experienced, at the time sheltering in an igloo made of stones.

Part of the Terra Nova: The White Silence documentary coming out this year!
