Hello. This is Socks, the main coder on GOMI. It was public knowledge, but I didn't make a Patreon post detailing it. This is the post.

Illness

I had a very large brain tumour that was removed at the beginning of this year. It had been in my head for a long time, but the final few months I became very debilitated - seizures being the worst. It robbed me of ability to do anything, including continuing to work on GOMI.

Now it is gone. It does have some permanent bad things, but I did come out much better than expected. I've had a few months to regain some of myself, I am feeling better. We started working on GOMI again and have been preparing the next release. However, please understand that there was the extremely slowed development in the lead up to surgery, and then just a blank spot of no work in the middle.

Project

GOMI continues. There is no change to the direction of the project, it is just back to work. Please view next post for 0.4 release.

A Steam page for GOMI with Early Access is going up. This is to gather wishlists and increase visibility of the project. The actual release is not imminent. We believe that backers should always have access to the game, no matter the platform it is available on.

Patreon

The Patreon tiers will be changed to be better reflect what we actually offer. Mostly, some of the higher tiers ended up just being taking request from those supporters, rather than running polls and such for them. Our goal with backer rewards is always just to have some fun things for people to show thanks. So far, that has been including requested customisation parts of characters and OC's, naming some things in the Island, and generally helping direct where the project goes.

With our return to working on GOMI, Patreon is reopened. Your support is the only thing that can make this game continue, so I thank you very much for your assistance.
