New year, new me!

We're no strangers to a little key art update... If you've been around long enough, you might remember lots of tweaks and changes to the original artwork as we found our footing and tried to nail the game's visual identity!

It's been on our to-do list for a year or two (at least), but now we've finally updated our promotional key art! This new artwork has minor changes to the scenery, but the main goal was to update Stuffy and include the Needle 'n Thread - something we wanted to do in the original, but didn't get around to.

Why?...

The original key art was rendered years ago during early development. At that time, Stuffy wasn't using the same refined model they have today.

We also rendered those key art layers without knowing how the final scene would be assembled, lit, and shaded during editing. This resulted in a darker Stuffy and a flattened field of view, with lighting that didn't quite stand out or match the surroundings. We relied more on Photoshop to correct this when it should have mainly been fixed at the render level, using real light calculations.

So, we've completely re-rendered Stuffy with changed lighting and their newest in-game model. They're also wielding the trusty Needle 'n Thread, which is intended as a major part of their character design and gameplay!

You can compare the various key art 'eras' below!

These show all the main versions of the key art since it was first created:

Don't worry, we intend to use this one from now on... If any changes are made, they'd be minor adjustments! We've already pushed this change to Steam, our website, Discord server, social media banner(s), YouTube thumbnail, and so forth!

These assets, along with others, will eventually be available in an updated Press Kit on our website. We understand the current one is getting a bit outdated, so we plan to revisit it in the future!
