the working title for this track was Hackerman because Jelly and I thought the intro of breakbeats on top of acid arps was hilarious.
The actual name of the song was something I had rolling about in my head towards the later end of writing the lyrics to the song, and this was the best I could come up with. Initially Jelly told me "No. That's going to make me look like a fucking weeb." and when I brought up the figure from Kalevala she further replied "Nobody cares about Finland, dude." When I said that's the best I can come up with she concluded "I DON'T WANT TO NAME IT THAT MAN"
Two days later after thinking of alternative titles she went "nah, we're naming it Aino Protocol." Women are mysterious at times.
Anyway, I was incredibly blessed to be able to write the exact song I had conceptualized without having to worry about formats, structure or whether it even made any sense in the first place. And also Jelly's sicknasty with the vox so the takes had a tone that took it just a step above what I had imagined. I'm really rather quite happy with this song too, even if it isn't Acid Rain.
