My wonderful friends have been working away on my PC for a few hours!! 🥹 For context, my ex-boyfriend claimed to be a PC expert, but upon further inspection there are several issues:
The fans were facing the wrong way (which explains why my PC has been at 95 degrees)
A few of the motherboard pins are bent
Incorrect screws were used in several places
The motherboard was not screwed in properly
Chipset heat sink was taken off by him and he had told me “it’s not needed”. I ended up keeping it as a precaution but the thermal pads have dried out 💀
Also the thermal paste application was…questionable.
Just thought this would be a funny update considering my PC has somehow been functioning for almost one year despite all of these mistakes 😂😂
Moral of the story? Get you some badass friends (tech-savvy is a plus) and trust your gut if someone claims they're an expert but something tells you they're not. LMFAO.
