We wanted to take a moment to explain what we've been working on. The new Quest system turned out to be far more complex than we initially anticipated. For example, the current battle system could not be directly integrated into it, which meant we had to come up with a new way to present combat encounters during longer quest chains. On top of that, the system itself had to be built and integrated from the ground up, which introduced a number of challenges along the way.
That said, we are hard at work resolving these issues to make sure we deliver the best experience on your fight against the Beastman King!
While the Quest system has taken a lot of our attention, it is not the only thing we have been working on. We are also wrapping up several assets that will appear in this update. Down below, you can find a preview of the final battle location where you will face the King: the Grand Coliseum. A place of spectacle and tradition, it serves as a stage where the beastmen gather to witness brutal yet celebrated combat. Here, you will take part in the ancient Rite of Challenge, defeating the King’s trusted allies before facing him in the final showdown.
However, your journey through Clawhaven offers ways to ease this final gauntlet. Through the Quest Mode, you may encounter some of the very bosses you would otherwise face later. Depending on your choices, you can remove them entirely from the final encounter or significantly weaken them, giving you an advantage.
Take, for example, one of the challengers you may face. Every bloodsport needs its champion, and the Coliseum is no exception. Olivia Hoofsdale has held that title for longer than most can remember. Beloved by the crowd, she thrives on spectacle and takes pride in her performance, earning the King’s trust in the process. Yet, since his rise to power, her opponents have grown less formidable, leaving her craving the thrill of a challenge. These days, she occupies herself with a new hobby, waiting for the one to excite her… though what exactly that is, you will have to discover for yourself during your time in Clawhaven.
