In a small mountainous region, a quiet island lies still in the middle of a lake with deep, dark waters. It is connected to the foot of a mountain by an old wooden bridge, arched and shrouded in mist. The planks creak under the weight of the wind, and the fog never fully lifts.
Though the island appears harmless at first glance, the fishermen from a nearby village claim that no one who has crossed toward the mountain has ever returned. On moonless nights, distorted echoes drift across the lake, repeating words no one has spoken—sometimes in the voices of the vanished.
A local scholar hires the adventurers. He believes that deep within the mountain lies an ancient sanctuary dedicated to the goddess of echo and silence. But something has changed recently: the mountain now vibrates with an unnatural frequency, and each night it emits a dreadful sound that rattles the bones of those who hear it. The scholar fears that the resonance of the place has been corrupted… and that soon the sound will spread beyond the lake, twisting the minds of all who hear it.
The adventurers' mission is to enter the mountain and discover what is happening inside.
