First off, HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you all!
For the new year I want to change how I use Patreon. When I launched I wasn't expecting the growth to be what it was. I'm grateful for all the support, but I wasn't prepared for it and I didn't handle it well. I made some mistakes, made promises I couldn't keep, and I feel I need to communicate with everyone better.
Moving forward I want Patreon to be a way for people to support my ability to work on content instead of supporting the content itself. I enjoy art and spend what free time I have making it, but after this year I'm not sure I'd make it a job. Art is more enjoyable for me when I can pursue whatever ideas truly motivate me, so for now I'm going to keep it as a hobby.
With that in mind, I do still have plans for future content and tier rewards.
Current work
I've been working on a number of projects and I've almost settled on what I want to do. The first animation I want to finish for sure will be with Isabelle and at least one lucky dog. Work on that has moved along quite well over the holiday break! The rough for it is already up for pepperoni patrons if you want to see what the plan is and there should be an updated WIP for it soon.
Future work
I also have a few other animation ideas I'm planning out, but those will have to wait for the new year before I show any WIPS. I have ideas for Ashe, Fenneko, more Isabelle, and some others where the exact character isn't that important. These ideas may change as I plan them out, but expect updates when things are further along.
Content changes and schedule
I'll be working on a number of different things every month that may include WIP's, early releases, and exclusive content. Due to life and my day job, I can't promise a ton of stuff every month. Some months will be busier than others, but I always try to work on something when I can.
For the most part content will be whatever I feel like working on or am having the most fun with. Some things may get done quickly and others may get put on hold. I'll try to keep a public post pinned that will show what the current projects are so you can always see where I'm at with things.
Reward and tier changes
Even though I'll be working on my own ideas I'd still like you to have a say on what the final outcome is.
Project votes
I don't have time to finish every project I want to do, so when I have a few projects roughed out I'll open a poll for you to decide which one I should try to finish. These will be projects that are already well underway which will help me only give options that I'm enjoying. There's a chance a project falls through but they'll most likely all be finished. Some projects that don't win the polls may come back later if I'm still feeling up to it.
Extra votes
Some projects will have details I haven't settled on that don't change the core idea. Things like secondary characters, objects, and whatever else I need input on. I'll put up short polls for any of those things when they come up, but not every project will have them.
Voting with POWER!
I want every patron to have a say on what's going on, so I have plans to make each tier weigh differently on the polls. I'll have an update with details on voting power next month.
Discord
Come join the Discord server. On top of getting updates faster, the suggestions and discussions there often influence what I'm working on. It's the best way to get ideas to me and also I'm lonely. :(
