DESCRIPTION

Hi. I apologize for the prolonged pause (once again). The data transfer of the old engine to the new one is being completed, and this shit turned out to be deeper than we feared it would be. The old data format was too different in a number of critical places from the new storage format, and it took 3 weeks of fuss just to convert and not lose anything. In many ways, this was complicated by the fact that old data had to be transferred to a new server for verification, and due to their volume, this process lasted 9 hours a day. After downloading and finding errors, we fixed them, restarting the process dozens of times. Now 90% of the errors have been fixed and data integrity tests and the adequacy of all algorithms will begin in the coming days. It will take about a week. After that, we will move on to the final, most recent task - configuring the video upload system to the server. For a number of reasons that take a very long time to explain (in short, Cloudflare did not allow uploading files with a volume above 200 megabytes, and our video files weigh from 1 GB now). But this month it should finally come to an end. After a short rest, we will have to process the video files that we have to work with our security system. And finally we will be able to publish them.

The good news is that the first video with the content is completely ready, but we cannot publish it without protection - I hope you understand. We have a couple of thieves here and we know this fact absolutely for sure. We cannot give them any chance to commit theft and remain without consequences.

The second video is completed before the "ready for final rendering" stage, but we have not launched the render itself yet. Once again, the Intel processor died on the key computer. This time it's 14900. As many as two generations of Intel have been exposed to this problem with a factory defect and it's damn infuriating. This time they replaced it again and did it quickly, but it set us back half a month. And although this replacement didn't cost a cent - thanks to them for that, but they can't return the lost three weeks of time to us. Therefore, our next upgrade will be to the AMD platform. I hope this is the end of our dark streak of unpleasant adventures.

So. 1 the video is completely ready

2 videos are 90% ready, it remains only to finish rendering. Errors are already visible in it, but there are many times fewer of them than in our first demo version of this video. it won't be difficult to fix that.

The next good news is that the blender of the new version has become better at working with memory and now you can insert a little more details into one frame than was previously possible. And we've tweaked the second video a bit to improve it. This is mainly about fur and physics.

Well, separately, the good news is that 5090 is coming out soon and as soon as we can purchase it, renderings will happen faster, and if the rumors turn out to be true, this video card will not have 24GB of memory, but already 32. That will allow us not to skimp on the quality of the characters' fur at all and it will be much, much more beautiful than in the video that you saw.

In general, we are working. I will write an announcement on the day when it will be possible to log in to the new server. According to preliminary tests, it works about 60% faster than the old one, it has no problems if 100 users update their update feed at the same time (now the feed is generated in advance, before users log in) and many other advantages. However, it is better to see with your own eyes. And it will happen very soon. We hoped to make it before the beginning of this month - but alas, only a small part of the iceberg is visible on the surface. The main part, as usual, is not too noticeable until you dive into the depths. Here's the news.
