Hello everyone,
After experimenting with the poll system for the past few weeks to decide which story gets updated, it became apparent rather quickly that some stories have accumulated a dedicated voting bloc capable of crushing all opposition beneath an iron boot. While democracy is a beautiful thing in theory, in practice it means certain stories (Horseman of War in particular) stand roughly the same chance of a beautiful woman has of escaping Zeus's advances.
Now, you might be saying to yourself, "Well, that's simply the will of the people."
And you would be correct. However, you might also notice that this arrangement has the unfortunate side effect of condemning some stories to eternal neglect, which is rather inconvenient for the handful of readers who actually enjoy those stories and would like to see them updated sometime before the heat death of the universe.
Naturally, I'd prefer to avoid that outcome and maintain a healthier rotation between projects. To accomplish this, I've shamelessly stolen...I mean, graciously adopted a suggestion from one of my patrons.
Going forward, there will still be two polls per week as usual. Nothing changes there. The difference is that at the end of each month, any story that failed to receive a single update during that month will automatically be granted one, completely free from the tyranny of popularity contests and electoral politics. This ensures that every story receives at least some attention, while still allowing the polls to determine the majority of updates.
As a result, this Sunday's automatic update will go to "Horseman of War", which has spent the month bravely "participating" in the polls and getting beaten over the head with a chair every single time.
