Between 5 and 6 PM, I experienced one of the worst thunderstorms I've ever seen at home.
It's over now and the sky is cloudy, but it was still 31°C inside—even with the PC turned off after the storm. So, it’ll take two or three days for the temperature in the house to really drop.
Outside, the air was 35°C before the storm; now it's 22°C.
But in my room, it's still 31°C.
If I can, I'll try to work on Episode 65 tomorrow.
Quick note: the problem isn't me when there's extreme heat like this week. I can work in pretty tough conditions.
The main problem is my computer, obviously.
With normal room temperatures of 22–23°C, my graphics card hits about 70–75°C when I'm rendering.
But when the room temperature goes over 28°C, the graphics card climbs above 90°C while working.
So, it's impossible to work. For a single episode, I do about 40–50 renders a day.
One render takes about 5 minutes.
I'll let you do the math.
That means my graphics card heats up to over 90°C for 5 minutes at a time, and I start a new render roughly every 2–3 minutes.
So, naturally, the card doesn't have time to cool down.
Not to mention the heat coming from the PC tower all day long. There are 15 fans in my tower; while that has the advantage of keeping the PC well-ventilated, the downside is that it constantly blasts a huge stream of hot air into my room.
That’s why a fan makes absolutely no difference to my working conditions in the room.
My room is small, so as soon as it gets hot, it turns into an oven. And there’s only one window, so there’s no draft.
My cousin stopped by the day before yesterday. I showed him how hot it was in my room. He said, "You're crazy to work in these conditions."
