A snippet of the next page! Been working on this panel today. Phew, is it a doozy!
After attempting to grab references or draw based off a real-life location, nothing was quite getting the vibe I wanted for this restaurant. So, I did a trick I learned a while back, but never did before: I drew the floor plan of the space, before tackling drawing what it looked like from this angle. It helped a lot, and I finally managed to get the look right!
As you can see, it's not finished yet, and there will be a few more cameos as well. My intention here is to only have dragons and half-dragons on this panel for lore reasons, so if anyone sent me a cameo character they've not seen show up yet, please forgive me for jumping around a little on who I choose for this page! I promise, your character will be shown eventually!
(Actually, a few folks had sent me an email without the proper heading, and when I was going through my email inbox and deleting old messages, I found them! So those are now back in the queue!)
As always, I'm using this new page to practice drawing something I'm not super good at yet - and that's working with interior spaces, and food! I've wanted to get good at drawing food for a while, so this is my excuse to practice, hehe.

Also, life update: I have an interview for a full-time position tomorrow, so wish me luck! As much as I don't want to return to a traditional job, I do need it to help support my little family. The hope is whatever I get, I can hold it down long enough for us to be pretty stable again, and not have much worry if I did get sick and get fired. (But let's hope I don't get fired... :') )
Other than that, we'll be at Cascadian Midsummer, Portland Pride, and will be attending Furlandia (though I don't know if we'll have a table there, or if we'll have a panel. We submitted requests for both, but no word back yet!). We hope to be at Portland Saturday Market as well soon (once the weather is warmer, so I specifically don't freeze in the cold mornings).
